in the 30 years ford was stranded outside his home dimension, the stans were forced to take up what the other was naturally inclined towards. ford had to survive: he had to learn how to fight, how to punch; he had to learn to be good at it (stanley was a natural). stanley had to get his brother back: he had to learn how to reopen an interdimensional portal, how to Science; he had to learn to be good at it (ford was a natural).

i saw project hail mary in theaters today. will make a post later about my thoughts on the book/movie differences. but for now i have to share something re:“i will tell adrian to work on that” (or wtv rocky said exactly). this implies that adrian is a scientist of some sort. or engineer, or whatever — someone *smart*

my thoughts: if adrian is Smart — like do the work to help keep an alien comfortable type of smart — why would they let their mate go on the blip-a without them? why wouldnt adrian go with rocky?

my answer: they wouldn’t. they didn’t. they weren’t a(n) scienctist/engineer/whatever when the blip-a launched. they decided to learn it while rocky was gone

maybe it was in his name, in memory of him — erid thought he (along with the rest of the crew) was dead, cuz he’d been gone for so long. or maybe it was for his sake — erid was still expecting the return of the blip-a, and adrian wanted to be on the front lines: awaiting their mate as soon as he stepped off the ship, and helping with whatever solution he brought to them

garcia is probably the only one who knows about santos’ scars (i mean she has to know… unless they fuck with the lights off and she never touches trinity’s thighs… which i find unlikely). i doubt santos has told anyone, considering how whitaker only just found out that she likes living with him. she’s not at that level of opening up to him (yet). so when we see santos take the scalpel… saw someone say “santos talking about langdon relapsing while she’s taking a scalpel” yeah she is definitely planning a relapse right now. she’s not been actively self-harming; the scars we saw earlier were not fresh. i am so scared for her

thoughts on the pitt s2 ep10:

robby is projecting onto samira. he does not extend grace/kindness to himself for his own mental struggles, and therefore he is not capable of extending it to anyone else. he was a total dick to mohan and his apology was not a good one.

garcia is right. the way she said “talk about langdon… *again*” gurl she’s heard santos yap about him a LOT. and a therapist would do santos good. garcia is just setting expectations/boundaries, and she is not being unkind about it.

langdon should not be speaking to santos as if nothing happened. “i’m happy to teach dr santos” boy shut the FUCK UPPPP you cannot be saying this shit when you havent even tried to apologize to her yet. the way he yelled at her and undermined her throughout season 1 was vile and she deserves an apology. and she is under no obligation to accept that apology.

robby calling whitaker the “most trusted physician” ??? that boy has been a Doctor for two seconds wtf do you mean

so i think lotr changed my brain chemistry: the first time i saw that frodo did not do any of his journey alone. sam never left him. when frodo first broke off from the group i was like “ok yeah he’s doing the rest of this alone. it’s his burden to bear. makes sense, this is a common trope” but then sam followed him and i was like “oh! okay sam’s here” and then frodo told sam to leave and he did and i was like “ah okay so *now* frodo will do the rest alone” but then sam came back. again. and he actually followed frodo into the very fires of mordor. like. oh. i didnt realize that was an option. so many stories like this have the main character do part of it - the last part, the most crucial part, the hardest part - alone; they have to. it’s their destiny or whatever. harry potter has it in the last book. thats the only example i can think of right now but im sure there’s more (lmk if yall have any). i just. i dont know. its very profound.

yall ever read a line from a fanfic that you *feel* physically in your bones, that makes you put down your phone for several minutes, that makes your arms and legs and head and chest feel heavy like lead - like liquid lead; heavy and churning and spinning you dizzy from the inside out, that makes you write and leave a detailed comment despite not having read past that line, that makes you then sit with the line for even more minutes after leaving the initial comment, that makes you repeat the line out loud (memorizing it, of course) for seven minutes while you cry over it, that engraves itself in your brain and body and nervous system, and that changes you forever as a person?

… yeah so that just happened to me. 10/10 highly recommend
