BRUCE WAYNE. Best friend in my world, loathes me in his alternate universe. He kills. Something went wrong.

CASSANDRA CAIN. Sweet, brave, smart. I love talking to her.

AYA. Incredibly advanced AI. I keep forgetting about that, guess it doesn't really matter.

STEPHANIE BROWN. She talks to me without fear, I like her. She's very close to Kon...

BARBARA GORDON. She apparently outgrew Batgirl. Can't say I'm surprised.

STEVE ROGERS. A hero after my own heart. Not from my world, but he would fit in well.

DICK GRAYSON. Not from my world even if nothing much has changed. I think he's even more fed up with the alternate universes than I am.

LIA DE BEAUMONT. A complete lady, very religious. It's refreshing to talk to her.

KON-EL. My clone. I think he wants my approval but I'm not sure how to give him that.

Superman speaking.

I... I'm not really sure how to this so I will do it as quick as I can. I have decided to get back to my world, to try to fix the mess I left it in. The mess I tried to fix by coming here. With time I have come to realize I was more helpful there than what I might be here.

I will stay around for a couple of hours, more if anyone needs me to. Most of you know where my room is so feel free to come by- I'd actually like that but I won't force anybody. I know goodbyes are not most people's cup of tea, so in those cases consider this my goodbye.

[Private to Kon-El]

However I wouldn't like to leave without talking to you.

[The truth is Kal doesn't have much to pack, and even if he did it would take seconds for him to do it. So he isn't sure how to... spend the time until it's time to go. Eventually he finds a little notebook and some pencils he doesn't remember taking to his room... maybe it was Diana's doing?

He was never an artist outside of the written word, but suddenly he realizes he has no pictures. No drawings. No physical proof of his stay in the barge, and that's quite sad. Even with his perfect recall it's never the same. So whoever comes by to say goodbye to him will surprisingly find him sitting down the icy floor, sketching whatever memory comes to mind at the moment of his stay on the barge.]
hetrustsme: (Got run over by a crappy purple Scion)
[When the video turns on Kal is holding a dragon's head over his shoulder. Only the head, the rest of the body is behind him. Kal seems mostly unharmed.

Decapitated a dragon nbd.
]

So, uh... it was my task to kill it and so I did, but the man who paid me for it has no use for the body.

I'm... not sure what- is it edible? Can anyone use its skin to make crafts or something by the sort? It seems like such a waste...

[Private to Lia de Beaumount]

Please report and tell me you're safe as soon as possible.

[Even though Kal is using audio to avoid showing how bad he's looking thanks to a certain death toll, it's still pretty clear from his voice he's not exactly on his prime. If asked about it he won't lie, but he hates looking so weak. He isn't used to it.]

I know we're all focusing on the latest... crisis we went through and punishing the culprit. [Personally he's always been all for redeeming, and being demoted sounds like a hard enough punishment already- but he knows he had it relatively easy during those times. He will step in if there's any killing but he understand wanting some sort of retaliation.]

But I have a question. I'm guessing there are are at least some of you that have died during their stay on the barge, and have come back. Apparently doing that comes with a price.

I'd like to know what kind of symptoms you had after it, and how long it lasted.

[Private to Mozenrath]

I would like to talk to you.

[Kal will spend most of his free time in the infirmary, trying to help out there as much as he can even in his state. Any help is needed after what the Barge had to go through, isn't it? And his inmate hasn't come back yet. He kind of feels like a failure already, so anything to keep his mind out of it will be helpful.

If your character happens to be in the infirmary or works there, they will probably bump into him at some point.

[Private to Lia]

[Kal is floating on air in his fortress, looking like the very definition of awkward even though he's trying hard to hide it. For someone with a double identity he sure is a lousy actor.]

So, we have been paired up. Are you... up to us meeting to talk things up? Do you want to see your file?
hetrustsme: And ways to say you died (Danced to death at an east night club)
[Kal is partial to the video function. There is a reason he doesn't use mask, he likes as open as possible and letting people see his eyes as he speaks has always helped them believe he's telling the truth (something important when most people tend to distrust so much power on principle).

Somehow, the barge and its events have managed to make him use the audio posts more than usual.
]

Have any of you had a secret identity of some sorts, back at home?
hetrustsme: (My pride still feels the sting)
[Have a nice view of Diana's eye and a little bit of her tiara and curly hair before she manages to focus it in. Spending time with Steve, the government and then up in the Watchtower with the rest of the league has helped her out a lot when it comes to technology... but she still comes from a world with next to 0 use of technology. Give her a break.

She in full warrior gear. She is in a pretty unknown place after all and even though she knows her beloved wouldn't send her anywhere dangerous habits are hard to break.
]

I have gathered we need to present ourselves to the 'network'. I came here to take Kal-El's- that is, Superman's place as a Protector of those who need it. I understand Kal-El had no inmate under his particular protection so consider all of you under mine. If Kal-El had made you any promises I will do my best to fulfil them as well as he would have liked.

For those who do not come from my world or do not recognize me: I am Wonder Woman. I will not take mockery towards that name lightly, consider that all the warning you will get.

[She already went through that in her world okay? Not gonna have a repeat in here.

After presentations are done she just... kind of stares at the network, hands playing with her lasso. What else is she supposed to say?
]

I will not spend my days in this place closed up in Kal-El's fortress. I am itching for a fight. Is there anyone who thinks they can keep up with me?

I must warn you I will not go easy on anyone.

[ooc: Went with his current girlfriend Diana :) replies will come from [personal profile] themiscyranwonder !]

hetrustsme: You're leaving now for my own good (You said it's meant to be)
Everybody is asking questions lately, so I guess this is a good time to ask.

What do you define as 'family', exactly? I'm not asking about the.... biological bonds, or genes, or bloodline. Whatever you want to call it one, in the physical sense. You can't pick that one. My biological parents died when I was barely moths old, so did the rest of my family.

Most of it, anyway. [Kara hates his guts most of the time, but she's still his cousin.] I cried for them when I was younger, but not anymore. What's the sense? They did whatever they could to ensure I would live a long, happy life somewhere else and that's what I did. They send with me whatever heritage they could gather, and I cherish every bit of it.

I'm talking about a family you feel inside, a family you feel in your... heart? Now that's a cheesy way to put it.

I was adopted by a kindly couple. I loved them, loved them with all my heart. They also died, lost their lives in an accident I should have prevented. I still cry for them sometimes. It's thanks to them I am who I am now, they were the only ones to accept me as I am when everybody else would have been scared of me or used me for their own purposes... so I know first hand how strong that kind of bond can be. They also died, lost their lives in an accident I should have prevented. I still cry for them sometimes.

[A loud sigh, sounds of him shifting around the room can be heard.]

I guess I'm asking about your experiences with that kind of family, that kind of bond. How do you find it? How do you know it's there?

How do you... bring yourself to acknowledge having someone else under your care if it scares you?

[Private to Steph]

I need to talk to you.
hetrustsme: (Default)
What was all that about?

[This time, Superman looks way less happy and content to be here than last time.]

I had been told it might happen but I- [He shakes his head, not knowing how to put the experience of being somebody else entirely, of having somebody else's memories inside of his head into words.]

I wasn't expecting it'd be so intense. I was somebody else! For entire days- and I had lived an entire life. Is it always like this? What- what happens if this thing changes us entirely? Does anyone ever not get back from one of these experiences? Do they happen often?

[All the questions, he has them. Now lesse if he can get some answers.]
hetrustsme: (Help me help me)
[When the feed turns on, a man is seemingly floating around effortlessly in a room that's entirely ice-white in the places where the metallic grey of alien machinery can't be seen. Those who recognize the bright, red S on his chest shouldn't have any trouble recognizing who the flying man is.

He usually doesn't like showing his fortress of solitude to just anyone, but in here it's different. It's a replica, and there's no chance of anyone truly endangering it and what it has inside.
]

Wow, this is really- I mean I was told I could choose the way the room would look but this? This is incredible technology. There's almost no difference in a molecular level and-

[Wait. Wasn't he supposed to-]

Sorry! I'm Superman, for those who don't know me. I'm a newly appointed warden and I'm here to help. [A little salute.]

Nice to meet you all.
