See, that’s what the app is perfect for.

Sounds perfect Wahhhh, I don’t wanna

I’ve been sitting here with an Oscar Wilde quote as the start of my pinned got a few years and I have decided i want to change it.

It’s not a bad quote. But the world and the internet at large seem to be getting to a point where it no longer is a great fit with my message. Literary merit, a good book, its all fine and dandy in theory but your speech– and my speech– doesn’t depend on literary merit.

There is nothing wrong with salacious content. I am an adult. You are, presumably, after clicking “yes, I’m an adult” on AO3, or unhiding the NSFW post here, are also an adult. If you know how to click the button, click it, and then don’t like what you see, you, presumably, have been on the internet long enough to also find a back button.

But, I will also give you a head start. Some topics that are recurring themes on this blog and in my writing include:

  • Omorashi [piss holding kink]
  • Sibling incest [especially ships such as alwill, willouis/louiliam, and moriarthree, but also 2 siblings + another like sherlilouis, etc.]
  • Moriarty the Patriot generally
  • Enemies to lovers, angst, and generally problematic relationship takes
  • Sexual violence in many forms, including but not limited to sexual canibalism, blood play, and other consensual kink content, as well as noncon/dubcon, under-enforced and under-negotiated boundaries
  • Cuckolding
  • Former fandoms include One Piece and Yugioh. I do still interact with these fandoms and repost others’ work from time to time.

I will tag works and posts to the best of my ability but i am imperfect.

Hopefully this list includes something you want to see more of, and we can become friends. If not, no hard feelings, 👋

Pinned Post pinned post about me i am not tagging this nsfw bc i am betting my blog already has the overall nsfw tag and this is meant to be informative

I gotta say I could not care less about the wattpad to AO3 immigration. Like... good. People should try out new archives if the one they usually use is no longer serving them.

"Oh but a handful of them will be weird puritans who don't understand AO3 policies!" So? Weird puritans don't understand AO3's policies every day. They'll falsely report some fics and the moderators will be like "there's nothing wrong with this fic" and life moves on. A small fraction of them will complain about AO3 on tiktok or something and people who are already complaining about AO3 on tiktok will agree with them and everyone else will ignore them. Who cares.

All the "those silly kids from Wattpad fleeing censorship don't understand just how anti-censorship AO3 is; they don't get that we're the cool big brave people! Look I found two ex-wattpad thirteen year olds complaining about AO3, which proves that they're all a bunch of whiny babies trying to change our awesome website!" just reeks of those "boomer can't get plain coffee in coffee shop from GNC barista" comics.

the really crazy thing about cooking is that once you practice it enough (for all the gamers reading this: "grind enough exp") your threshold for wuat counts as a low effort / depression / I Dont Really Want To Cook meal rises steadily and you can feel yourself becoming the kind of person whose "chill dinner" takes 1h45 and involves three pans

As someone who went through this and struggles with chronic pain and fatigue, add 1 thing semi regularly. And I do mean just 1 thing.

When I first moved out most my meals were instant ramen. Then I started adding 1 egg to that ramen to get a little protein in. In a couple months, 1 egg became two. Then it was 2 eggs and 1 chopped green onion. Then a couple months later I was adding carrots and other vegetables. In about two years I was able to skip the instant ramen part altogether and now use chicken broth and noodles and I’m basically making a ramenesque soup from scratch when I’m craving ramen. It took 2+ years total of just gradually, one at a time, adding one ingredient. Over a period of months/weeks.

Start with where you’re able. If a sandwich is too much, maybe try just a piece of bread and some meat or cheese. Focus on where you can be gradually introducing more nutrients into your body. 1 slice of deli meat. A couple weeks later, that plus 1 slice of cheese. Then 1 vegetable. Maybe they don’t all make it into sandwich form and that’s ok. But if you keep what’s the most basic and simple for yourself and slowly add 1 thing that’s not too much of a hassle, over a couple months you might start toasting the bread before putting cheese and meat on it. Then one day there’s more vegetables. Years down the line you might find yourself owning a panini press or slicing your own bread.

Most of us will never be gourmet chefs and that shouldn’t be the goal. You might not ever get to the point where you own a panini press. But the more important thing is that you’re finding ways that work, for you, gradually, in order to make your meals more nutritious. The expectation to cook a full, unique meal every night for dinner is a relatively new phenomenon and completely unrealistic for most people. Having the same 3 things you can make consistently and keep on rotation is plenty fine, especially if you get to the point where you can mix it up a little bit by adding ingredients in the method stated above. Feeding yourself should be the #1 goal, getting more nutrients in #2, and stepping it up to the next level #3 when you have the capacity to. Like with a lot of things, it’s really just about consistency. Start with where you can be consistent. If that’s 1 meal a week you cook yourself and the rest is hot pockets, but you can do that 1 meal consistently, then that’s where you start. Then when you have that down, maybe try two (of the same) meals a week, or ask what you can add to your hot pocket to make it a little better for you. (Some vegetables on the side for instance).

Don’t try to jump in from 0 to full course meal all at once or you’ll overwhelm yourself. Building a meal outward from bread and butter over a period of weeks is incredibly possible. No two peoples’ timelines will be the same, but it is entirely possible and that success will look different for everyone, and that’s also ok. As long as you’re feeding yourself, that’s what’s most important.

this is so helpful. too many times when I ask how to do something, people tell me to "just do it" like I'm supposed to already know what steps to take. and I almost never know what steps to take. someone actually telling me is so refreshing

"Why do you buy books when the library is right there?"

Because publishing houses will not continue printing paper books if libraries are their only customers.

Also, I like being able to read at my leisure and generally have books at hand.

its-the-blob

#public libraries are good because they let people access books they might never otherwise read#private book ownership is good because it's Yours#physical books are good because they last a long time and again it's Yours#ebooks are good because you can fit a whole library into the physical space of a single book and they're cheaper to produce#audiobooks are good because they're accessible to people with eyesight or visual reading issues and leave your hands free#in conclusion: all books are good and people should enjoy them however and whenever they can#(lest it be misunderstood I agree with you completely OP I just also really like books in general and it got away from me)

YES. all books. every kind

seeingteacupsindragons

All books good!

But also I started tagging a list of reasons why book ownership that got so long I decided to pull them out of the tags:

  • Sometimes I need a reference or a quote and it's at hand
  • I can spontaneously re-read something (I did this just the other week and lost like 8 hours)
  • If I put off reading a book for ages, it doesn't become a Thing, and I don't have to plan out when I'll read it
  • Sometimes people have collections of things okay. Books are just a very. Heavy one
  • I can loan it to someone outside the library system and/or not worry about getting it back in time
  • They're pretty
  • My library does not have the funds to specifically cater to my book tastes. They also have to buy books for other people. Sometimes, buying is the only way a book will ever actually be available to me
  • It will never become unavailable to me (unless I decide to get rid of it or something tragic happens). Library books get weeded, and I have no control over it
  • Same reason I like having physical media of music and anime I like
  • Not all books are actually available through my local library's purchasing suppliers, and/or they're out of print
  • Don't have to worry about losing it
  • Sometimes library books react very weirdly through security detectors because of the tags on them and I like not having to deal with that when I bring a book along, frankly
  • It's Mine

i hate that diet culture means all the tasty drinks everywhere are loaded with stevia now. this isn't even a stance about health, I just think it tastes so fucking bad

genderqueer-rat

stevia is cross-reactive with a common environmental allergen: ragweed! if you've been drinking your fun little drinky drinks & have been feeling off there's a chance you're actually allergic!

I can't have artificial sweeteners because they give me migraines. I can't have stevia because I have an anaphylactic reaction. this new wave of "make everything 0 sugar" coming back into fashion could literally kill me if I'm not careful. nothing is safe, nothing is sacred, if I'm getting a little treat, better check the ingredients in case they changed em! :)

*head in hands* it's like ragweed??? Ragweed?? Oh my god everything makes so much sense

let go of the idea that you have to be everything to everyone

str-ngeloop

this means claiming the narrative authority to judge for yourself and selectively dismiss demands on your being from others. it means prioritizing what you value and allowing yourself to be finite. it means being comfortable with believing 'it's good for people to do/be/advocate for that thing' without necessarily pressuring yourself to also do that thing. there are an infinity of worthwhile activities. to attempt to fill an infinity with your finite self is to walk the path of burnout. CHILL.
