terf post: men are inherently oppressive of me simply by virtue of being men. men who claim to experience gendered oppression are lying, and they are dangerous for any woman to be around.

And people who are nonbinary? Well, you Have to say if you're a female girl-enby or a male boy-enby. You can't be "just enby". That's not real. You're either a woman or you're evil and dangerous

And if you refuse to tell me which one you are, then obviously you're evil and dangerous, because if you weren't, you'd tell me

like 2 months ago i saw a single lobster in the grocery store tank that'd somehow lost a rubber band and every other lobster was huddled in the opposite corner of the tank in a big lobster pile (presumably because the freed lobster was an asshole about having a free claw) like. im done with crab in a bucket mentality. You're not even trying to pull everyone else down to get out and climb up yourself, you're just being a dick. Unshackled lobster in a tank mentality

Magic the gathering is a deeply unserious game. I had a creature card that makes the opponent discard a card when entering the table. The opponent had a "return creature of your choice back into opponent's hand" card, and played it on my creature. So the next round, I just slapped that card right back where it was, triggering the same penalty as the first time.

Imagine playing cards with someone and they slap you with a lizard that knocks a card out of your hand, and then you just gently hand the lizard back to them. And then they immediately proceed to slap you with the lizard that knocks another card out of your hand.

"Your people aren't very... warm, are you?"

"I don't grasp what you mean, ma'am."

"I've had you for what, ten, fifteen years now?"

"Fourteen this spring, ma'am."

"And yet I've never seen you smile. Not even once."

"It's a matter of respect."

"You don't smile to people you respect?"

"I don't smile to people I don't like, and I don't lie to people I respect. I don't like you, ma'am, but I respect you enough to not lie about it."

"Well that's rather cold."

"Then I suppose we are."

I keep thinking about how cuckoos are so much bigger than the birds whose nests they lay their eggs in. I can't recall where I would have read this, but in some part that has to be about the bird parents' instinct to feed the strongest baby the most. Like even if they could suspect that there is something off about this one singular baby, who eats as much as a whole nest of babies, and is mysteriously the only one in the nest, that is still a big, strong, beautiful baby. Having some clouded contemplations of "if feeding my beautiful huge baby is wrong, I don't want to be right", immediately pushed down to whatever they have for a birdy little subconsciousness.

What if changelings work the same way? Needing so much more care than a normal child, but being so compelling that doting on this little creature is impossible to resist? A child that is so much more sweet and perfect than any human child ever could be, easily possessing every human virtue - so thoughtful and kind, polite and well-mannered, that you hardly even notice that three other kids went missing at some point.

Pushing down suspicions that this impossibly perfect child isn't human, that it isn't yours, because you don't want to think about that. Refusing to contemplate that your sweet beautiful baby is going to do the same thing to someone else as their parents did to you. Someone else's children will be gone, replaced by just one, a perfect one, too perfect to be human. But you don't think about things like that because that's your baby.

the thing about misogyny is that nothing makes apparent how prevalent it is faster than just pointing out misogyny, which will have people scuttering out of the damn sewers like ninja turtles to accuse you of being an overly sensitive shit-stirring know-nothing who's making up things to be offended about. which is actually also pretty misogynistic, but if you point it out people will come scuttering out of the damn sewers—
