Summary: After many bottles of wine and a self-indulgent overabundance of introspection, she came to the realization that such thoughts were totally ridiculousSeeking the affection of another would in no way diminish what she felt for the Doctor. Their lives and relationship were so terribly complex and inconsistent that it would only, she realized, diminish her were she to put her life on hold in breathless anticipation of her husband's next arrival.
Author's Note: With Moffat's express confirmation of River's bisexuality, I wanted to write something about/around/explaining/something it I don't know. Multiple chapters (eventually) detailing River's various romantic exploits and indiscretions, perhaps with mention of the Doctor's as well. Obviously will be River/Doctor heavy because that's my jam, and sometimes their exploits/indiscretions with coincide. This chapter is needlessly depressing.

Author's Note: Silly, smutty, stupid piece. A friend and I challenged one another to write a series of fics playing with the apparent professions of our favorite characters (Doctor, Professor Song, and Captain Jack) and this is my first attempt. Haven't written fic (read: smut) in a long time, haven't written River/Doctor ever, so this is my first foray into this particular fandom... hi! Sorry if it's awful. :)
