I'm a high school senior who's been working on some social science research with the Intel Science Program for the past few months. I need to survey as many people as possible to take my survey, and would appreciate it if any of you did.
I'm not personally going into the medical community, but my younger brother was raised with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA), so I'm very familiar with having a long term illness in my direct family. There were so many doctors along the way that helped him succeed, helped him to walk, to live a normal live. These doctors went far above and beyond the call of duty.
This holiday season, thank a medical professional that has touched your life in a special way.. Visit www.hero.md to tell your story and thank someone today.
I went to graduation because I'm a sentimental mofo. It was strange. Watching these kiddoes that I've seen since they were freshman walk the stage cemented the fact that I myself have already done that; I'm already grown up and past that. It was all such a blur a year ago that I didn't even realize it was really real until Mr. Marty started to play 'Pomp and Circumstance' - for the class of 2006, not me. Yeah, even after a year of full time college and part time work. Has anyone else noticed that? Maybe its just me. Lots of fellow C/O 05-ers were there as well. Its not even funny how many of us are at Northwest Vista or UTSA.
In any case, since this community seems so dead, I wanted to be the first to congratulate you guys. You all should be so proud; I hope you've enjoyed these past weeks and months and years. You've earned ever fiber of those diplomas in your hands. I remember some c/o 04-ers telling me how they came to our graduation because we were "their fish" and I figured I'd do the same. I only had six or seven actual friends walk the stage tonight, but it was amazing how each face was still familiar. Best of luck, guys. Whatever you do, I'm sure everything will be wonderful :D
A necessary institution that facilitates growth for your studies as a pre-health professional before college / the real world?
Or...
An educational facility that merely limits options of its students and could be more effectively summarized into a health department on a larger campus?
wtf? why did i pass hchs today on the road and see that exams are this week? what happened to uhh, exams being at the end of the semester, aka before winter break?
Where's everyone? Its been months since anyone posted. I'm new here, not sure if I'll find anyone. But thought i give it a try. I'm waiting to see if we're going to have our 10 yr. reunion. I've already been to the Website and left my info. Oh well, its hard for our school since we all go our own ways. What can I say? Health Careers was probably the best HS I would have attended, even though there weren't many fun extra curricular activities. Good luck to you who are still in HS!
so, how was the first day of school? how's the new schedule? i'm mad curious; convocation at UTSA was today. 7000 freshman is insane, and a far cry from 250 of yore. i feel weird not going back; but i'm a procrastinator to the core, and have to go back in the next few days for my transcript :X hope its not too weird, to not stay for class.
hey guys, just wondering how your first day of school went. my niece started today, she said there are a lot of cliques in the freshman class already so she's kinda bummed about that, no one will talk to anyone who's not in their clique already. i told her i give them until the end of the semester for the cliques that there are now to evaporate. thoughts?
