Hiya, I’m Ellie. I enjoy all kinds of fantasy stuff, Tolkien, D&D, MTG, ya know. Losing my mind over Star Wars stuff constantly. Amateur poet, might post stuff here, who knows.

no more infighting if ur queer. idont care no more. you will be deleted from the world if u start to even open ur mouth to say some shit about another queer person and their identity. no more.

i think if you truly hold the opinions that someones identity makes the whole of queer people "look bad" or if you say "this is the reason people hate us" then i think you need to sell your phone. i think you need to find it in your heart to realize that one person using silly pronouns or a label youve never heard of before will not hurt you, the people who hurt you, and them, and All of Us do not care what you are, they will hate you no matter what you use as a label when youre queer. you have to love your fellow queers, you have to protect them. ok?

On this day, 21 August 1970, the Black Panther newspaper published a letter from co-founder Huey P Newton in which he criticised attitudes in the left groups towards women and LGBT+ people, and called for solidarity with the women's and gay liberation movements. Newton criticised homophobia and sexism in revolutionary movements, commenting that "homosexuals… might be the most oppressed people in… society", and called on the left to desist using homophobic language: "We should be careful about using those terms that might turn our friends off. The terms 'f****t' and 'punk' should be deleted from our vocabulary, and especially we should not attach names normally designed for homosexuals to men who are enemies of the people, such as [president Richard] Nixon or [attorney general John] Mitchell. Homosexuals are not enemies of the people." The letter stated that as a basic principle, "a person should have the freedom to use his body in whatever way he wants", and went on to say that: "there is nothing to say that a homosexual cannot also be a revolutionary... Quite the contrary, maybe a homosexual could be the most revolutionary." Newton argued that all radical events should include "full participation of the gay liberation movement and the women's liberation movement". The move came a year after the Stonewall rebellion, and the subsequent foundation of the Gay Liberation Front, which supported the Black liberation movement, and militantly raised issues such as homophobia within radical organisations. We discuss this in our podcast episodes 25-26: https://workingclasshistory.com/2019/05/13/e21-22-the-stonewall-riots-and-pride-at-50/

And, irrigation canals.

Saves 82% of water evaporation. 💧

Actually do cover our fields.

Solar doesn't compete with agriculture, and can be beneficial to it.

Just also cover our car parks.

Especially with summers getting hotter and dryer in a lot of places, solar panels in agricultural fields is a really good idea. Sheltering vegetables from the hottest, driest time of the day will help them grow better. Cows and sheep and such seek out shelter from the sun. I think I recall reading that they found higher biodiversity in pastures that had solar panels because of the shelter they provide.

I'd like to see a very hard push for solar covered parking; people can be massive shitheads about any kind of power generation, but nobody objects to covered parking

School and housing and basic food should be provided by the state because a lot of people are being held back from their true calling by parents who will only let them stay in their house if they go to law school

Also human rights or whatever but we only need so many law students

working with kids and one of them says “you know you eat 8 spiders a night on average right?” and another goes “no no no those statistics are actually skewed by people who like eat spiders recreationally for fun and stuff” and my head snapped up like a fucking sleeper agent

when i was a kid i had moments of being so fucking diabolical because i realized at some point the best way to leverage power over my family was to do shit that would make everybody late

our house was in the middle of nowhere surrounded by woods so when i decided i didnt want to wear dresses anymore if we were going to some event & my parents insisted i had to wear a dress i would just go hide in the woods. was so committed i almost made us miss a flight once bc my mom packed a dress in my suitcase

i only promised to stop doing this if my parents got me formal boys clothes to wear which eventually they did. i don't feel bad about resorting to violence bc i asked politely and they said no. proud of 10 yr old me for evil annoying lesbian behavior

5th grade was the last time I wore a dress for school pictures. When my parents attempted to force the issue for 6th grade, I climbed onto our roof and pulled the ladder up after me. My dad borrowed the neighbors ladder. As soon as it touched the roof I pulled it up too. By the time I had 3 ladders they were willing to negotiate, and 2 hours late for work.
