1 Once there was a boy who was taken from his mother by his cruel father and forced to learn a dark magic. The boy killed his father and fled his home, where he fell prey to a sorcerer known only as Asmodai. Once there was a boy who hated the world. His parents did not understand him, and he endured cruel torments from his peers. One day, the boy found that he was different, and willingly joined the sorcerer Asmodai. Once there was a man who desired to control the world through power. He found and seduced a weredingo to his side, and then discovered and blackmailed a powerful healer as well. Now he has his eyes set on an unusual Native boy... 2 Once there were two men who were betrayed and murdered by their overlord. They did not pass on to the afterlife, but instead anchored their souls to a wristband and sought vengeance. Too late did they discover they were forever bound to the mortal plane... Once there was a girl who was dying of an illness. Two ghosts appeared to her and offered a deal: they would heal her, give her a long life, but in exchange she had to house one of them for twenty years. The girl agreed... 3 Once there was a woman who longed for a son, and used her magic to obtain one. In the doing, she broke the laws of magery, and paid the ultimate price... Once there was a strange boy, taken in by a lonely woman and taught to behave as other boys behaved. When she was found dead, he was taken into a foster home, and discovered powers of magecraft within himself. Little did he know how unusual he really was... Once there was a young girl, a foster child of a deep and abiding faith. It was by her doing that the unusual boy came to be in her family, and in the end it was her kindness that would be the sorcerer's undoing...
