First Pediatrician Appointment

Bradley's weight today was 8 lbs, 3.5 oz. The pediatrician was satisfied with his gain and says we're doing all the right things. She said that large babies often lose more weight and that she'd give him until 3 weeks to regain his birth weight, not the usual 2 weeks. Gains of 1/2 oz to 1 oz per day are the goal and he is meeting that at this time. We'll bring him back on Wednesday for another weight check, and if all is well, the next appointment won't be till December 22nd for a well baby visit. She brought up the possibility that my milk is delayed due to retention of part of the placenta, but said if that were the case I'd be feeling intense cramping and have heavy bleeding, and I am not and do not. My OB will check me Wednesday if I still don't have tons of milk flowing.

Milk production is up when I pump as of today. I started out getting nothing, then 1 drop, then 2 drops, then 5 drops, etc. and am all the way up to 15 cc today. I suspect I'll be engorged and dealing with a whole new set of problems tomorrow. Is this what parenting boils down to? You figure out one thing, and then the situation changes.

She also made me feel like a rock star, because she said the following:
Dr: "This is brand new to your body, you're recovering from your C-section -"
Me: "I didn't have a C-section."
Dr: "You birthed THAT big baby??"
:)

Those of you parents who have delayed vaccines, can you sum up what I might be dealing with at a 1 month visit? I want to spread them out a la Dr. Sears. He did not receive the Hep B at the hospital.
