Bio
Steve started acting as a teenager - getting his first agent when he was a senior in high school. He appears in the upcoming musical feature Stardust (featuring LEW) and the film A Relative Comedy (now entering festivals). Other movies include the comedy Broadway’s Finest, Dark September Rain and the Oscar nominated animated film Chico & Rita. Short films include the sci-fi (and reproductive rights) short A Matter of Poultry, Allegreto ’75, and Betty on the Bed (also writer/director). Small screen appearances include the digital series SEND ME, which he wrote and produced (Emmy nomination for series lead Tracie Thoms). Steve has also appeared on Law & Order: SVU, The Young & The Restless, 90210, All My Children, Rescue Me, Homicide and Monsters. A classically trained actor, Steve performed his one-person show: SNOW [black man. whiteout conditions.] in Los Angeles (The Unerasable Solo Festival) and in San Francisco (PlayGround’s Solo Fest). Other theater includes performances at: The Guthrie, American Repertory Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in The Park, The Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Theater for The New City and The Kennedy Center. Steve was a company member at The Round House Theatre under the leadership of the late Jerry Whiddon. Awards include: Best Actor at the Genre Celebration Festival and the Millenium Telly Award (for his work on The Fox-45 Clubhouse, a kids’ show that was seen in five states and featured sketches, puppets, and interviews that he co-hosted, co-wrote and co-produced). Steve studied acting as an undergrad at Yale, and graduated from The Shakespeare Theater’s Intensive Classical Workshop for Professional Actors of Color. He is a graduate of drama school at the American Repertory Theater Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard.

Fox-45 Clubhouse

This massively popular kids show, originated in Baltimore and was seen in five states and hosted by Kenny Curtis and Steve who played friends who hung out in a tree house, talked with puppets, interviewed guests and celebrated viewer birthdays. The winner of the Millenium Telly Award, the show was co-produced and co-written by the pair with producer Kate Rogers and Executive Producer Phillip Guthrie.
