harold is my most favorite character ever. angelicaxharold is my otp. (18+ followers only - fanart and personal writings)

i am very autistic and so is harold. my work is deeply imbued with my heart and soul, and reflects not only the source media but my own lived experiences. i have trauma-based mental illness which affects how i engage with fictional characters and media, please be respectful.

i draw a variety of subject matter, with preference for dark comedy and romance. i will also bring tragic hurt/angst to the surface sometimes. when im not posting art im just special interest posting; i want this blog to be a shrine dedicated to my favorite character and ship. ❤️

my only intent for them is a good ending, one where angelica eventually realizes she loves harold too. harold was created just for angelica, and they will be always be happiest together forever and ever and ever.

your art is absolutely amazing i'm obsessed! i love your linework and how you're able to pack so many details in every piece, wow

thank you!! ^_^

persistent unfulfilled romantic yearning has to be one of the most uncomfortable and devastating psychological experiences to go through that isn't inherently connected to preexisting illness or external trauma, and is especially damaging for a child to experience, but nobody wants to even acknowledge that children are capable of having these kind of feelings. it's a suffering you bring upon yourself, but when you're young you don't know what's best for yourself, or how to protect yourself; you're just helpless to it.

i don't care if characters like harold make people uncomfortable, i hope modern childrens media keeps including characters who are weird desperate little yearners because as a child i needed characters like that to make sense of what i was already going through starting at age 5. i wasn't a normal kid, and harold is not a representation of a normal kid, but his presence in this series makes me feel more normal, safe, and understood than any other media or character does. nobody deserves to feel alone.

artists obsessed and possessed by one single all-consuming theme or image and returning to it over and over until the day they die…. rearranging your entire life into an altar of unflinching devotion for this one thing, the only thing, and through that devotion making it everything….that’s how you touch the universe i think.

Guy who never feels like his problems are “bad enough” to be taken seriously: what if I hurt the character so horrifically that everyone around them could not possibly deny the severity of their pain even if the character themself tries to downplay it.

"why is the character like that" >look inside character >it's the author's subconscious attempt to love themself

this is meant positively by the way. sometimes you love the character so much you end up putting a piece of yourself in it to learn how it is to love yourself without realising and thats ok.
