"Draw me like one of your French girls"

"Draw me like one of your French girls" Lena said to Kara suddenly.

Kara gaped at her, she didn't say a word, just opened and closed her mouth like a fish.

"What?"

"I said, draw me like one of your French girls."

"But- but why?"

"What do you mean why?" now Lena was the bewildered one.

"I- I" Kara stammered.

"Okay, well at least I managed to distract you from your little nervous spiral" Lena smiled at her girlfriend.

"Pfff, I was not spiraling" Kara replied, puffing her chest to appear confident.

"Darling, you almost ran a crater into our kitchen floor by walking in circles."

I was angry when ‘Avatar: seven havens’ was announced because that’s means korra is dead and apparently a villain.

But I realised that I can draw WHATEVER I WANT!!

So here is korrasami in love.

there are places in the world today that are experiencing 40°C for the first time in recorded history. of course there's no way to know whether chucking billionaires into volcanos will appease the sun god but i feel we're doing the scientific method a disservice if we don't at least try

The thing is, right, that overworking yourself is still harmful if you're doing it for politically good reasons. It's not the presence of a Capitalist Boss demanding overwork that makes it bad. It's the other way around, incentivizing overwork, a bad thing, is one of the reasons why capitalism is bad.

Whether you're overworking yourself out of a sense of moral obligation, or because you're super passionate about the thing you're working on, you still have to take care of your health and take breaks.

This is literally one of the most common contributors to burnout.

I think the most damage this site has done to me is making me think "It's fucken wimdy" when it is, in fact, fucken wimdy outside.

I taught one of my ranching buddies “it fucken wimdy” and now he says it around his older more established ranching buddies

The exhilaration I get- upon hearing an old rancher (I’ve never met before) in cowboy boots and a cowboy hat while on a horse, grimly saying “it fucken wimdy” in a thick west Texas accent as he looks down upon his cows- is incalculable

Hey, just in case nobody's ever told you, you can just live with your friends. I don't mean as a temporary roommate situation until you get a better job or a romantic partner; you can do it forever if you want to. Like, I know my view is a little scewed here because I'm aroace, but you can't convince me that most people's lives wouldn't be vastly improved by living with a tight-knit group of people that all love and care about and support each other. You don't have to live alone! You don't have to live alone with your partner either! If the only thing stopping you is societal convention, then fuck it!! Break free of your chains!!! Do whatever you want forever!!!!

doomscrolling tiktok together and I turn to you and ask, "why doesn't your algorithm recommend any videos with Black people?"

doomscrolling tumblr and I turn to you and ask, "why don't you reblog anti-racism when it makes you feel uncomfortable?"

I mean, real answer? I don't reblog 99% of the anti-racist posts that cross my dash because they all have this type of guilt-tripping on the end. I thought we agreed ten or fifteen years ago that we're not spreading that shit. I see plenty of posts I would love to reblog if they didn't all end with "but you won't reblog this and that proves you're actually racist" or words to that effect

Tears that are driven by white guilt are self-indulgent. When we are mired in guilt, we are narcissistic and ineffective; guilt functions as an excuse for inaction. Further, because we so seldom have authentic and sustained cross-racial relationships, our tears do not feel like solidarity to people of color we have not previously supported. Instead, our tears function as impotent reflexes that don’t lead to constructive action. We need to reflect on when we cry and when we don’t, and why. In other words, what does it take to move us? Since many of us have not learned how racism works and our role in it, our tears may come from shock and distress about what we didn’t know or recognize. For people of color, our tears demonstrate our racial insulation and privilege. I asked the woman of color I refer to in the opening of this chapter if I was missing anything in this list. This is her response: It’s infuriating because of its audacity of disrespect to our experience. You are crying because you are uncomfortable with your feelings when we are barely allowed to have any. You are ashamed or some such thing and cry, but we are not allowed to have any feelings because then we are being difficult. We are supposed to remain stoic and strong because otherwise we become the angry and scary people of color. We are only allowed to have feelings for the sake of your entertainment, as in the presentation of our funerals. And even then, there are expectations of what is allowed for us to express. We are abused daily, beaten, raped, and killed but you are sad and that’s what is important. That’s why it is sooooo hard to take. - White Fragility, Robin DiAngelo

I am asking you to deliberately seek out and engage with Black content creators. I am also asking you to notice when your racial guilt moves you to inaction, regard it as a problem worth solving, and solve it.

i hate how much people care about their ships being "canon" now. spirk fans didn't publish zines full of fanfics in the 70s only for modern fandom to grovel at the knees of corporations and beg for things to be canon. use your imaginations, don't allow billionaires to think for you.

My wife pointed out to me the other day that apparently most people were literally only taught how to say Sorry and not how to Apologize or even that they are different things so here.

If all you ever do is step 1, not only did you not apologize, but people will rightfully stop believing you and start getting pissed or hurt.

no ao3 users, people switching from wattpad to ao3 is not colonization, and it should not be treated as such

Not to be a Mexican killjoy but if you’re white and you make ICE/MAGA/deportation/racist jokes about wattpad users I’m gonna assume all it would take is the right bit of propaganda to make you support ICE irl. What’s funny about ICE to you huh? You’re invoking our biggest fears because you’re inconvenienced. Yes thank you I’d like a side of screaming nightmares with my fanfic.

“It’s like colonization!” Did they kill you? Put you in a camp? No? Find a new word thanks
