whirley ball

Friday night in Chicago, and not thrilled at the prospect of sitting at a bar with the brothers and their women listening to different stories with the same dynamics (somehow when that group gets together, inevitably there is at least one flare-up. I got them to go play whirley ball. Check it out here: http://www.whirlyball.com/what/
We were on the court for 1/2 hour. We were together for a total of about 5 hours. That 1/2 hour was the only time we were all smiling almost continuously. Granted, just before we got on the court, each of the brothers who were present kicked my butt playing air hockey, so there was definitely smiling before, and we did have an overall good time.
Where else can you go drink a few, then drive a bumper car around an indoor court and play a game that is a blend of lacrosse and basketball? Just watching the group before us was amusing. I wish they had video on the website. My forearms are sore from steering, but it's worth it.

they're different now. More whining and laying down, less pouncing. I think the behavior management for the past two weeks while little one has been recovering from losing her female parts has had an effect.
Now, if only we can keep it this way...at least in the house.
