beatles biopics are going to include a brief lennon/mccartney sex scene and when there's public outrage about it paul is gonna make a statement along the lines of "i told them to put that in" and then not elaborate

DAY 4: 07/01/1969

Disc 2

"Take this guitar I offer you in all humility!"

"

PM: And I know that my ideas aren’t the best. They’re not- They’re good. But they’re not the best. We can improve on ‘em. [unintelligible] And you can improve on the coming ideas, if you get into it.

GH: And that’s y’know, all that existentialist crap.

PM: If you don’t, okay, then I have better ideas. But if you get into it, you’re better.

MLH: Thank you Jean-Paul. Exactly. We can call him Jean-Paul George as opposed to Jean-Paul Sartre.

PM: Anyway. It’s like that.

MLH: We had a joke over here. You heard that? Call him Jean-Paul George as opposed to Jean-Paul Sartre ‘cause we had existentialism. Um. Yeah, like, it’s communication. And I think, I mean, corny’s great. And like Mal said, it’s so corny, and it’s so- You are terribly corny. "

He heard John’s arrival before he saw him. Even in his altered state, he immediately clocked the subtle shift in energy that occurred any time a Beatle walked into a room. It was like all the oxygen being momentarily sucked out of the room before returning full force, like a gale of gossip and chatter and curious stares. He’d tried to explain it someone once, but stopped halfway through because he was worried he’d commit the ultimate Liverpudlian crime of putting on airs.

He resisted the urge to turn around to see who had appeared. Likely not Ringo, given the baby and all, but possibly George. It took all his willpower to continue his conversation with Marianne about folk versus pop and what Dylan’s new record meant for them all.

“Didn’t expect you out tonight,” Mal said from his perch as he stood to make room.

"I’m a bleedin’ treasure chest of surprises, Big Mal.”

Paul closed his eyes briefly at the sound of John’s voice, then forced them open because what the fuck, he was sitting at a tableful of people. He counted to three and then glanced over at John, who was twisted away from him gesturing to Mal. He wore an olive roll-neck sweater under a lightweight jacket and his hair was shaggier than usual, like perhaps he’d read Paul’s mind all the way from Weybridge.

Paul couldn’t help the soppy grin that overtook his face when John turned back to the table and their eyes met.
