→ FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: No fourth walling; the series isn't popular enough to warrant it, so I'd rather not. Canon puncture is perfectly fine, though!

IC CHARACTERISTICS.
→ CANON POINT: Mid-Shattered Sky, in Sicily, before experiencing syntaxis.
→ PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Lourdes is seventeen, Latina, medium height with a curvy figure. She has long dark hair (to mid-back) and tends to dress somewhat flamboyantly, in bright colors and patterns.
→ DEMEANOR: When she has her powers on, Lourdes is literally a magnetic personality (see below). Without her powers, she appears to be simply an outgoing, pleasant girl with an easy smile. She walks and talks with confidence the majority of the time. However, when she's nasty, she's really nasty, and her entire demeanor changes to one of defensiveness.
→ ABILITIES: Lourdes is a star shard, a fragment of the fictional star Mentarsus-H. As such, she is endowed with absurd powers that rightfully terrify everyone back home. These will all be nixed on board the Barge, but here they are anyway.
Lourdes's power is primarily one of control, with thematic nods to gluttony and gravity. She is able to take complete control over people's bodies, including all systems but mental. In other words, not only can she puppet someone into, for example, standing on their heads, but she can stop their heart, brain, or other vital organ; she can manipulate their metabolism; et cetera. She can do this to tens of thousands of people at one time by her point of canon departure, and can organize them into what amounts to a machine made of human parts.
She also has a literally magnetic personality. People gravitate to her and want desperately to make her happy. However, it's shown in canon that some people with very strong standing distaste for her can resist her magnetic aura.
Finally, Lourdes has the ability to join with her fellow shards in syntaxis. This joining allows all six of them to magnify their powers and work in unison. Lourdes doesn't know about syntaxis yet, but she does know that she can sense her fellow shards from a distance, as well as know when something calamitous happens to them. This power will also be removed, at least to start with, on the Barge.
→ MEDICAL INFORMATION: None until her powers get turned back on!
→ CABIN INFORMATION: 4-06. The cabin of a cruise ship, messy, with empty liquor bottles everywhere. Also, incongruously, some leis.

She understands immediately that it isn't right, isn't home, for whatever value home carries for her anymore. She can't feel them.]
[She can't feel anyone. Except this ship which is not dead, pulling her on to somewhere else, wanting something from her. Why does everyone want something from her?]
[It doesn't take long for her to make it up on deck, which she is not impressed with; stars are stars. She is a star, too, and a brighter one than these, and more powerful. The concept surprises her, but, and here's the but, it doesn't surprise her much. The only thing she really feels is a dull fear at the dead expanse of space.]
[It could open up at any moment, and they could come through.]
[While she is lounging on deck, she tries an experiment. Simple, small. There is someone else close by, someone who at least looks human. She reaches out tentatively, trying to brush their metabolism with hers, to gather their systems under her control. . . .]
[Raises an arm, expecting them to do the same.]
[Nothing.]
[She drops the stupid tiny cell phone in shock, kicking it across the deck and turning it on in the process. Everything - fear, shock, loss, and the desire to be reunited with people she's never met before - wells up in her, and she screams wildly, out of control and overwhelmed.]
