Hello! I'm Becky Frank, Director of the Seeley G. Mudd Library. On behalf of the entire library staff, it's my great pleasure to welcome you to Lawrence and especially to the library.
I’m sure you have Lawrence’s mission statement memorized, but just in case – it says that, as an institution, we’re “…committed to the development of intellect and talent, the pursuit of knowledge and understanding, the cultivation of sound judgment, and respect for the perspectives of others….”
The library's mission statement is in harmony with that; it states that the library "prepares students for a lifetime of learning, and supports the creation and dissemination of knowledge through our welcoming and inclusive environment, our resources and technologies, and our excellent staff." If you like alliteration, you could say that we work to help Lawrence meet its mission with our space, our stuff, and our staff. We've developed this research guide to introduce those to you.
I hope you’ll get to know the library faculty and staff, and that you and your students will make use of the Mudd in your teaching and learning.
We look forward to seeing you in the Mudd!
