In Cambodia, a rapid response team is helping to save some of the world's largest and most critically endangered fish when they end up as bycatch.

Conservationists have worked with local governments and fishing communities along the Mekong River to build trust and cooperation. Now they have a 24 hour hotline to call in case of a megafish catch--last year 92 megafish from four endangered species were tagged and released alive thanks to this work.

"After years of watching these species edge toward extinction, seeing numbers rise instead of fall feels almost unimaginable. But it's happening, and it's exciting."

Look it's not even remotely my kink but even I can see that Tumblr isn't into Ryland Grace because of the normie-attractive cisheteropatriarchy white boy summer blockbuster thing. They're into him because he's an absurd cranky dork-twee monsterpet muppetfucker in a slutty cardigan choosing his interstellar soulmate's terrarium over all that "being with his own kind" clobber. If Tumblr didn't have his back (and covet his ass) it wouldn't be Tumblr. Fam recognize fam.

I have two black cats, Sera and Ceridwen. They are sisters and look exactly alike and like to sit next to each other in the exact same position.

Sera is sweet and loves to be petted.

Ceridwen is sweet and loves to pretend your hand is a mouse she wants to disembowel.

My kids will stand in front of them both and try to guess which is which, even asking the cats, “Which one of you likes to bite?”

Every now and then I’ll hear a, “Wrong one! Wrong one!” followed by my kids running through the house chased by a delighted kitten

this feels like the cat version of the thing where one creature always speaks the truth and the other always lies

Genuinely one of my favorite things about TNG is how often they're just doing art for fun. Riker's been playing trombone since he was a kid and he really enjoys it and also he is Not Good. Dr. Crusher is stalking the halls trying to rope all her friends and acquaintances into joining her community theater productions and musical reviews even if they've never been on stage before. They're constantly going to their crewmates' music recitals and poetry readings, and some of these people are impressively good at what they do but some of them are just getting started or content to stay at beginner level. They're having fun! They don't have to be prodigies in order to be involved with art because engaging with art on whatever level has value of its own! THIS is what I want to see in my post-scarcity socialist space future. Will Riker's bad trombone playing is load-bearing, actually.
