They actually say what happened the night that Amy and Tim died, as well as what was said on the video tape. It's really gruesome, but I'm glad to learn about it.
On Wednesday ogawaogawa, over at his blog One Last Thing, excerpted a great quote by director Werner Herzog from the book Herzog on Herzog, edited by Paul Cronin.
Whether it's dragging a boat across a mountain in the Peruvian jungle (Fitzcarraldo), pursuing the ghost of Timothy Treadwell in Alaska (Grizzly Man), or pulling actor Joaquin Phoenix out of his overturned automobile in real life, Herzog's own existence continues to appear no less strange and wondrous than the lives of those characters whose obsessions form the basis for his films.
The remarkable tale in question may be found by digging here:
A discussion thread appears over at my blog, Mere Words, about Grizzly Man, Herzog, and Treadwell. The specific post that started it all is entitled "Grisly Man." Feel free to join in, if you like.
I just joined the community, HELLO!, and I'm so glad there's one for Timmy. :) He's my hero: a man who chose to follow his dreams to become a better person....and who lived his dream and happily gave his life to do so.
He's a wonderful man, it makes me mad though to hear that some people blame Timothy for the death of Amy. >:\ She chose to go, he didn't make her go with him...any opinions?
