I'm still not sure of the right way to write a letter but have learned the hard way what not to do.  Treats are absolutely welcome.

To the person writing my story, thank you so much!  I am really excited to read it.  My DNWs are pretty simple, and while I have a few ideas, I want you to be as creative as you like and tell the story you want to tell.  I trust you.  Most importantly, I want you to have fun.

Stuff I love: AUs! Found families, women being bad ass, women being friends with other women, sapphic fic, alternative history, post-apocalyptic fic.  Disability representation with openly disabled characters being fully fleshed out and having their own stories.  Every kind of diversity.  Stories with a progressive political message.  (But by all means, if you are worn out of politics, especially given our 2025 hellscape, it's totally cool not to include this.)  I also love escapism. Banter.  Smart is sexy.  People being Jewish, Muslim or any religion besides Christianity.  Not anti-christian at all, just love seeing other representation.  Asexual representation.

Not my faves: These are NOT DNWs.  Rather, these are just kinds of stories I'm not usually the biggest fan of.  So if you are brainstorming for ideas, these wouldn't be my first choice.  But if you have an interesting idea that encompasses one of these, go for it!  I don't want to stifle your creativity, and something that's usually not my thing doesn't mean I won't love your story. High fantasy, Urban Fantasy, schmoopy fic, Kid fic except as noted.  Stories set far in the future—crossovers with or strong allusions to The Handmaid's Tale books or TV show. Psychic phenomenon unless it is proven to be a hoax.

DNWs: non-canon sexual assault, incest, suicide. Anyone dying from cancer. Human feet, especially toes. (weird phobia, I know!)

Sex Education

Ideas: I would love an Isaac story. He's such an interesting character & and as a disabled person myself, it is so refreshing to see a character with a physical disability who has sex. I would love to know what happens to him after the show concludes. Happily team Isaac/Maeve or Isaac/Aimee.

I love Maeve and Aimee. Maeve/Aimee would be fantastic. So would a friendship fic.

Totally cool with any other characters in the story except Jakob. I know Jean isn't in the tagset, so it's just a mild suggestion, but more interaction between Maeve and Jean would be cool.

For All Mankind

Ideas: Love women being badass together.  Margo/Sergei.  Poor Sergei!  Feel free to AU him a better fate.  Margo is the most autistic coded character ever.  Feel free to lean into that.   Aleida and Kelly sending messages back and forth.  Please tell me they have birth control on Mars now.  Write anything you want about Molly as long as she is being awesome.  Origin story?  Her experience of losing her sight? Her funeral?  I know Aleida's PTSD doesn't vanish just because Margo comes back from the dead.  The news segments are always fun and a story from the POV of an average American watching this all could be interesting.

The Lone Gunmen

So, really trying to stay in the spirit of Yuletide here, but I would love to see Dana Scully take part in their adventures.  Specifically, Three Mean and a Smoking Diaper, and the child is actually William, Mulder and Scully's son. Jimmy meeting Scully would be fun, or Scully and Yves could do awesome stuff together?  I'm not sure if it would violate Yuletide rules since the story was "resolved" on The X-Files, but they aren't dead, dammit. Langly backstory?

So I think the party is officially over?  I last posted here 5 years ago and I just looked at my friends feed and it is all fandom secrets posts save one post from ancarett, whose deidication I seriously admire.  Lets see, I work in politics and non-profits these days which means I am perpetually unemployed.  Like I worked the election last year and haven't worked full-time since.  Over a year of unemployment is not great for one's mental well being.  I'm sick and tired all the time.  Still going to Dragon Con every year and will until I die.  I miss when every communucicated on a long-form platform like this and I know we will never have that again. Facebook is the closest thing left that people actually use and my feed is nothing but AI generated slop from people I don't follow and horrifying reels of disgusting toes, also from people I don't follow. Tumblr is still around I think but I had 500 followers and zero engagemenbt with anything I post.

BTW, my pronouns are They/Them and subject to further change. I am trans.  I am 100% not a girl or a woman and that's not changing.  Still a feminist, though.

The 2000s and 2010s when fandom drama seemed like the most important thing in the world are so quaint when Demoracary mosied on out without much risistence by the people with sway and power and I've lost my civil and human rights.

Sex Education
Would really like Maeve/Aimee because they are so sweet together. Jean/Maureen would be cool but not required. I just really want Jean and Maeve to actually meet and interact since it seems like that will never happen on the show. Post season 2 would be great. I'd love to see how Jean is adapting to the pregnancy. Smut is always welcome but please only for the adult characters.

The Fall
Since it sounds like we are getting season 4 in 2021, I'd love more Stella backstory. Feel free to make it Stella/one of Gillian's other characters. Stella/Scully is always welcome and as I understand it, allowed under the rules as long as Stella is the focus of the story. Stella/Reed also works.

I'm just ridiculously happy someone nominated this. The virtual con was fun but I definitely missed seeing everyone in person. I don't really have any big ideas here. Go wherever your mind takes you. But maybe make the empty elevator at the Hyatt if that works for you?

Dear Yuletide writer,

Hi there!  Thanks for writing a story for me.  This is my first time ever participating so I'm totally sure what to put in my letter.  So here goes nothing.

I like bad ass women interacting.  I love femslash but genfic is fine, too.  I am a glutten for angst.  I don't need a happy ending and enjoy dark fic but maybe not an ending of absolute devastation and despair.  I'm very pop culture ignorant so crossovers aren't great unless they are shows Katee Sackhoff or Gillian Anderson have been in.

I'm Jewish and not a huge fan of overly Christian related stories. Maybe have Jewish representation in the story? Post-apocolyptic stuff is fun.  I usually am a big fan of AUs but not for these fandoms. Canon divergent AU is fine, I'm just not really interested something like a coffee shop or college roommates AU. I didn't put it in my sign up but if possible no cheating UNLESS you are writing Niko/Cas for Another Life. Please no cancer fic unless it is canonical.

Fandoms requested

Sex Education - So I messed up and wasn't around during nominations.  I'm a huge Gillian Anderson fan and would love if you could include Jean in the story.  I'd love to see her interacting with Maeve and/or Ola since she was mostly silod in season 1.  This isn't a demand of course.  I love femslash and Maeve/Ola would be awesome.  I love all the characters on the show but really would prefer a female focused story. Jean hasn't met Maeve.  I'd love to see your version of that scene.  I think Jean and Meave would get along well.  Same goes for Ola.  (not trying to sneak in a DNW but something I really enjoy about the show is the female characters overall get along.  So I wouldn't be a fan of Maeve and Ola insulting each other or Jean being super judgemental of either or both of them.)  Also please no Jean/any high school student.  You can include Jean/Jakob or Jean/any adult (mad props if she's bi or pan)

Another Life - I love this show and there are about 3 people in this fandom.  Niko is a great character.  I LOVE Niko and Cas both as friends and as a ship.  If you wanted to write Niko/Cas that would be so amazing.  But I'd be happy with any Niko centric story.  I'm not really into family fic.  Maybe more Niko/Cas backstory.  We really only saw a tiny bit of their first meetings.  How did they get from there to being close friends and crew members?  Or something present day if that moves you.  Maybe they have a close call and realize what they really mean to each other.  Maybe add to the world building the show failed to do.  what is earth like?  what's a water city.  This doesn't need a ton of page space but the lack of it annoyed me.

American Gods - So I'm a huge Gillian Anderson fan.  I actually haven't seen season 2.  I'd prefer it be set in season 1 but its fine if it isn't.  Hoping for female focused fic here.  Femslash or gen is cool.  I don't have super strong feelings here as long as it is a female focused story.  If you wanted to do a crossover with one of Gillian's other shoes, that would be cool.


Squicks/triggers - I have an eating disorder so I'd rather food not be described in detail. Characters eating is fine, I just don't want textual food porn.  No fat shaming or body negativity. No self-harm.  No dead children or animals unless it already exists in canon. NO rape/non-con or dub-con.  Consent is sexy. No loss of bodily autonomy AKA no one gets kidnapped or posessed. No incest.  (I realize stuff in this letter is non-binding so I will be noting this on the sign up as well.)

Most important thing is to have fun with this!  Thank you!  Sorry I know this is a less than stellar letter.  I'm new at this.

Hey folks, it's my yearly post when I remember LJ still exists.  I think there's about three of y'all still here.  So what's up, y'all?

I've been active on tumblr (greycoupons) and twitter (greycoupon).  Feel free to give me a follow.  No idea if I will stay on social media.  I got back into X-Files fandom and its a toxic mess.  The fandom is really small now, cliquey and everyone hates each other.  Even though almost all fanworks are MSR, people get horribly offended that anyone dare not ship it.  There is almost no slash.

As a bonus, there is this weird "feminism is EVIL!" vibe where if you point out how the show mistreats Scully, you get jumped on for ignoring Mulder's pain.  I get called hateful and accused of starting fights.  EVERYBODY ships David and Gillian which is weird but whatever.  I would ignore it but they trash Gillian and David's girlfriend constantly. (His GF is 30 years younger then him but see, she's just a "gold digging whore".)

I love Another Life.  I know the writing isn't the best but its a lot of fun.  Giant spiders!  Someone's nervous system tears itself from their body!  I'm trying to will the fandom into existence and it's not going well. We have three stories on AO3.  I wrote one of them.

I'm still in a pop culture coma so I'm not really into any of the guests.  Maybe I will binge Wynona Earp before then.  I hear they have a lot of guests and the show is good.

EDit: So Lil died in June.  It was damned hard but it got to the point where she no longer would use the litter box and she had started hiding.  Thankfully I found a vet who would put her down for free.  Now I have a ginger baby called Moby. He's 2 years old and kind of loco.  I think he looks like Helo.  (any long timers remember my first ginger baby?)

Lets see.  Moved to a house.  Cat is still alive.  Am still a socialist but quit DSA because I was tired of the sexism and ableism.,  I keep saying cis, white are garbage and facebook keeps throwing me in jail for hate speech.  They must defend the poor, oppressed white man.  Nazis they don't care about.  Racist doxxing BLM activists?  No biggie!  A counter protest to the Nazi reunion in DC organized by DC activists last week.  You better believe they took that event right down because RUSSIA.  In case anyone was wondering what matters to facebook.

Dragon Con is next week.  WIll I be seeing any of y'all?  No real BSG guests to speak of but the show has been off for 8 years.  We do have a couple X-Files guests.  Season 11 stunk but I ended up rewatching the whole series and found the love again.

Anyone still hang around these parts?  LJ sent me an email and a digest of activity because someone "liked" an 11 year old post.  So that's a thing here?

Lets see.  What's new?  Gotten sicker.  Quit school 9 credits before I would have my degree because I ran out of money and just was approaching non-functional.  Got arrested for protesting a couple times.  Moved in with a friend I know through fandom and I'm pretty sure she hates me, given she hasn't spoken to me in months.  So I have to move at some point but I also owe the IRS a ton of money because I work off a 1099-MSIC.

Lost my best friend over the 2016 election.  If you ask me if I supported Trump, I will smack you upside the head.  Hint: we are in Kafkesque hell where the Democratic primary never ended and my wanting a living wage, affordable college and universal healthcare is not a damned pony.

The vet told me last march Lil was in kidney failure and only had weeks to live.  Someone forgot to tell her that because it is almost a year later and she's still going.

I'm moderately employed at the moment 20-30 hours a week and have discovered I actually hate political science.  As this is my major, that is a problem.
