the actual narrative parts i have written of this are about 28k all together and i really cannot tell whether this is a reasonable “fuck” to total words ratio

like it is so easy to get into my protagonist's head but every other word out of his mouth is ''fucking'' his voice is so clear to me like i tried to see if writing more flowery prose would work (and that's what i do 90% of the time!) but no it does not work for him. not at all. untitled story blogging

Pastel drawing of four orphaned common swifts tucked into a crochet nest. There is one bird in the middle facing left with its long sickle-shaped wings crossed behind it. Another is perched on the top of the nest with its tiny feet. and Two others are tucked under the central bird, with long wings sticking out. The birds are primarily drawn in oranges and pinks while the nest is blue.ALT

Studies from life of some swifts I met, who were under the care of a wonderful swift rehabilitator.

The climate crisis-fuelled heatwaves in Europe this summer have resulted in larger numbers of swift nestlings jumping early to escape the heat of their nests. These are some of the lucky ones who were found and given a second chance at taking to the skies of our changing world.

okay, i finished my first draft of 2012 for my original story! there are a few scenes i want to add eventually to flesh out some relationships more but i feel like i’m in a much better place with this draft because i decided to approach the love interest/main relationship differently (read: making them weirdly codependent + incredibly, horribly defensive about it to other people). i also started writing 2013 and then made myself mad at my own protagonist because he pulls some bullshit so i think that’s probably a good stopping point for the weekend lmao

after reading aom i've been thinking about writing hateable characters that are really compelling to read basically i want this person to get hit by a bus but i also hope they don't so i can keep reading about them but also they fucking suck!!! like my protagonist does not go that far (he does actually manage to redeem himself over the next 8-9 years lol) but still something i've been mulling over as i write this untitled story blogging <- for filtering purposes
