Forty-three - Video
[Iroh's sitting at the Pai Sho table in his cabin, hands folded together on the surface.]
Hello, everyone.
I am pleased to announce that Valmont has graduated. I expect that his time here is over, and....so is mine. Tonight I will be returning home, to resume my retirement.
[He pauses briefly.]
I cannot - will not - flatter myself by saying that I am a good man, or that I have lived a good life. There are things in my past that I cannot hope to repay, or forget. But I will say that I have lived a better life for being here - for the things I have seen, the worlds I have visited, and the people I have known. And if only one person considers my presence here to have been of use to them, then that is more than I could have hoped for.
I wish all of you well.
[Warden Filter]
Though I hate to leave just as we have lost Constable Fraser, but I will need someone to replace me in supervising the kitchen shift. I would not call it a challenging role - it simply requires one be patient and observant. [A twinkle of a smile.] Not that being a good cook would hurt either.
[Friends Filter - extremely generous.]
It has been an honour to share in your lives, however briefly. You will be welcome in my home whenever you wish, and for as long as you wish. My doors are open to all of you.
[Private to Castiel]
May I make a contribution to the greenhouse before I leave?
[Private to Azula]
I know that there is nothing I can say that you would care to listen to. But I hope you will come to understand that redemption is not about losing your identity, but finding it.
[Private to Wanda]
You have suffered more, and struggled more, than should be wished on anyone, and at such a young age. But you are strong now, and wise, and resilient. It is your choice as to how you use that strength. I have faith that you will find peace, and I know that I will see you again soon.

[He tries to shove a bunch of random breach-born concerns over whether or not Iroh will be alright to the back of his mind.]
Take care of yourself, alright.
[He knows he can and will, but he has to oblige his nonsense thoughts that much.]
[Private]
I will, Kay. And I know that you will take good care of yourself as well.

[OOC: Since neither I nor anyone else actually knows the rules of Pai Sho, would you mind assuming this? Iroh will give him the game table and pieces if he's at all amenable to accepting them.]

...Congratulations.
[For possibly the first time, her heart doesn't sound in it.]

Are you alright, Chromie?

Fare well, my friend.

You say that as though I think anyone here would be capable of taking that from me.
[Private]
[But he doesn't think for a moment that anything he says will actually sink in, so after a brief pause:]
Goodbye, Azula. I hope to see you when your time here is done.

Take good care of yourself, Mozenrath.

You too.

These are fire lilies, a plant native to where I come from. A friend made me a gift of them so that I would have a reminder of home; since I am returning there now, I no longer have need of them. They will need nothing more than a little room to grow, and water, and they will bloom quite brilliantly for a few weeks of summer.
Re: private
You're a wise man, Iroh. You will do well.
Re: private
[They need direct light and that's about it, they're pretty much the chillest plants ever. But Iroh will leave as much information as he knows, the biodome with the shoots in it, and a few extra bulbs for Castiel to plant in the greenhouse.]
