Once again I find myself in a sort of training limbo because of visa issues with China and as such I am back in England, without a gym, and left to my own devices of home workouts
I'm not best pleased about this situation, and hope I don't just lose the little strength I have been building over the previous months.
Also, there isn't any BJJ in this area, so I definitely have suspended that for now too - perhaps for practicality's sake I should take up something else in lieu of BJJ, perhaps Aikido or something along those lines.
Arghhhh, consistency is all I wanted this year, it's probably too much to ask for in these turbulent times.
So with lack of a gym I shall have to conjure a new plan and see what my options are, lets find a race to throw myself into at least, hit one of those goals this year!
Today I aimed to finish the chest exercises I didn't complete last time for whatever reason, gym overcrowding I think, and the supporting exercises from Workout A
WU 1.6km @ 6.4km/h 0 - 6 incline
Flat Bench: 90 x 2 (kg) Cable Row : 84 x 6 (kg) Incline DB: 60 x 6 (lbs) Hammer PullDown: 145 x 2 (kg) Leg Press : 70 x 6 (kg)
CD 0.8km @ 6.4km/h 5 - 0 incline
Also I've decided to add Leg Press to workout B and Leg Extension to Workout A
Of course the last month's odd training schedule has messed with my strength levels a bit but it's coming back on track
Legs are so damn inflexible, gotta focus on stretching, maybe take up Yoga ?_?
Croc Rows : 80 x 3 (3) (lbs) Seated DBP: 45 x 6 (lbs) Hammer PD : 140 x 3 (kg)
CD 5:00 mins @ 6km/h
Back is still not feeling great, slowly reintroducing my normal exercises, feeling tired, weak, and the gym is overcrowded, seems like everybody is working chest today so I decided to sack it
The pollution in this city is outrageous, couple that with my lack of enthusiasm for treadmill running, my cardio is going to hell in a handbasket
while waiting for a treadmill to become available i banged out a quick set of 6 dips + 6 wide grip pull ups, and a full hammer PD set working up to 135 x 2 (kg)
1:00 min @ 6.4km/h + 1:00 min @ 10.5 km/h
completed 13:00 mins - 1.81 km
summary, my cardio is a disaster, hope next time I can at least add another 5:00 mins to this, pathetic.
Really have to increase the weekly mileage if I ever hope to run a 5km sometime this year.
Maybe it's coz it's my birthday, or maybe coz some nutter tried to attack me with a brick, but I went a little OTT today in the gym and really tweaked my lower back during my first exercise, rack pulls.
The setup isn't very stable at this gym, basically I'm standing on a platform to be able to do them, and for whatever reason, when I went for a sub-max lift of 120kg, my lower back ’jumped‘, resulting in me standing still for 5 minutes or so in shock, wondering if I could manage to bend over to pick up my water.
