This month's Black Hole Cafe will take place on Monday, the 13 between 7 and 10 p.m., at the Cambie Cafe, 63 Victoria Crescent. We are very excited to feature musical artists Franklin, Jeremey, Derrin and Blaise, of Carpe Didj'em who will treat the audience to an eclectic journey by fusing psychedelic, industrial, experimental jazz sounds. Come hang out and support local alternative music and find out about Nanaimo's collective arts zine, the Black Hole. Hope to see you all there!

Black Hole Active

Hey Everyone! A little update on what will be happening for this month's Black Hole...

"Sound Stories", a trio act from Victoria, will be playing the next Black Hole Cafe, which is this coming Sunday, November 21st at the Cambie Cafe, 63 Victoria Crescent, downtown Nanaimo. The show will begin between 7 and 7:30, the cafe closes at 10:30. We are very happy to have an act come from Victoria, so please come and share the appreciation!

Emi, Jordan, and Rachel of Sound Stories will treat the audience with a lo-fi more multimedia folk show, involving some spoken word, drawings, machines, as well as upbeat music, which I've been told has an "ocean voyage" theme. They've played in town as Sound Stories a couple times and should be awesome.

You will also find information on Nanaimo's collective arts zine, also called The Black Hole, including submission information. For anyone who has heard of this and still is not sure where to send their works of celebrations and criticisms of downtown Nanaimo in the form of poetry, articles, doodles and sketches, photography and comics, online submissions can be sent to: blackholecafe@yahoo.com. Questions can also be sent to the same email address. Submissions can also be sent through snail mail to: Nanaimo Zine, PO Box 268, Station A, Nanaimo B.C. V9R 5K9, with a self addressed and stamped return envelope. Deadline is December 21st.

I hope to see many of you out on Sunday and to find your submissions trickiling in over the next few weeks!
