this post. You are right about alot of things with this, but you do forget that Nintendo has a history of overcoming the odds. Lets see, they are still around, Sega is gone. They kicked themselves in the face by making and selling the playstation, but they are still fighting the good fight, and they aren't losing money on the gamecube, gba/gbasp, or the ds like sony has ALREADY lost on the PSP. The truth of the matter is that the PSP is awesome. No matter what, I love it, and want it VERY badly. But the PSP has already lost the company so much money they are going to have a hell of a time making it up. Despite the fact that they are selling PSP's well, they haven't even made a dent in how much it cost them to make it with its current profit, or lack thereof, from it.
So at the current rate, Sony will be out of gaming before Nintendo. And no, not "just because" of the PSP. Also, they have their, "legal battle" that is going to take a HUGE effect on their profits. You can't lose 90.6 million dollars, be told to remove your PS2's, PSP's and many game titles, and expect to stay afloat. Yes the case has been appealed, so they have more time, but they have no chance of getting a reversal. All an appeal does is see if the evidence used was stable enough to carry the sentence, they are screwed in that respect because they used th
e EXACT technology that the Emmerson Company patented for copyright. Microsoft, in case you didnt know also got in trouble for this but they were smart enough to take care of it out of court for 20 million dollars, then they bought 10% of the company.
But, back to the point I was trying to make. Nintendo doesn't lose anything on the "vibration technology" they used because it was their own design and they got an agreement with Emmerson before they implemented it. So, those TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS that the PS2 outsold the other two has been consumed, by the THENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS that they lost in the Emmerson battle, and the MILLIONS they currently are under in the wait for the PSP to turn a profit.
Now, to the defense of Sony, they are not gonna fall off the gaming market from any of this. They are only going to have drawbacks. They will financially suffer for sometime, but, they will kick back, and hopefully very strongly.
Back to Nintendo, they are finally planning out the big beyond. Yes they are making online plans. GASP! Of course though, a little late for the Gamecube. So the Revolution, thats the codename for the next Nintendo, is going WI-FI. Along with the WI-FI for the DS. They, "plan to have an active agenda for online play for the next generation of Nintendo products", which, starts with the goliath of games the DS has coming to it by the end of the year. The most noteable game to have the Online feature will be Animal Crossing DS, which AC was awesome so you can only figure as much from a DS version. The DS is about 6 to 7 months set in now, and it still has few titles, which hinders it, but their are many on the way. Which goes back to the PSP, which thank god has about 20 games at release. But, what the DS has that the PSP lacks is new games. Yes it has GT4, and a game or two else, but A remake of MGS, and of Spiderman 2 (which might I add is one of the worst games to date), a hacked up tetris, a remixed THUG2, a NFSU Rivals, and ALOT of sports games that have been out. Yes there are many games,
( click here to see the list.Collapse )but, does that mean that it is going to do better than ANY OTHER HANDHELD SYSTEM EVER has against Nintendo. Remembering that Nintendo has both the DS and the GBA/GBASP, and they both sell regularly, and both sell very well, GBA(sp) has enough games to fill a small country, much like the PS2 does with the exception that the PS2 has enough for one and a half small countries.
( DS gamelist... topping 90 with 96 games, many are announced, but they will get here...Collapse )I would say that Sony looks to be in more trouble than Nintendo. Not saying either are gonna die off, just saying right now Sony is having worse problems.

Before anyone says, oh, you are nothing but a Nintendo Fan Boy, thats why your opinion is biased. I just want you all to know, I dont want ANY of these companies to go down. I believe that people should know Nintendo is not in as much trouble as everyone thinks.
