resources on Lilith

Hi all - I do a lot of work with Lilith, both in retelling the myth to support folks in letting go of the demonization of the feminine, and with counseling clients working with issues relating to Lilith - domination, abuse, having to leave home/family, making peace with the wild feminine within, etc.

I thought I'd post some links to things in case anyone here's interested. There's some astrology here, as that's my main gig, but there's a lot of useful info for those not into it or not exposed to it.

An article on my site laying out my thoughts:

An interview (audio):

An article in the magazine of the South Africa Astrological Association, on Lilith and Lucifer as shadow archetypes we can learn to look at and live with - "Seeing In The Dark":

A handful of blog posts on Lilith: http://tdjacobs.com/blog/?cat=4

And finally, I offer an astrological natal report all about Lilith - looking at yours in your birth chart. It can be ordered via my site, http://tdjacobs.com.

Peace!

Invocation

I want to share this Invocation I wrote as part of my handfasting ritual.

Gracious Lady of Moon & Tides, Mother Earth,
You are the rhythm we dance to.
You are the beating heart, the chirping cricket, the crystal vibration.
You are the drum in the forest, the waves upon the shore, the music of the spheres.
You are the sweet curve of a green hill, the smell of warm loam in the sunshine.
You are hard as rock and soft as baby skin.
You cradle us, protect us, nurture us, sustain us.
We call upon you.
Embrace us with your love and strength; give us a sense of security and stability.
Teach us to open our minds and senses to your bounty, wisdom, and power.
Love us more than we deserve, and help us to grow as we are able.
In joy and gratitude we will strive
To reflect, generate, and radiate your love and energy
In all that we are and all that we do.
To live thus is to be blessed.

I am pleased with this because it expresses how I feel about the Goddess, what She means to me, and why I worship Her rather than that angry, bloodthirsty, misogynist middle-eastern sky god whose followers seem to be in the midst of so much imbalance and disharmony.

Not that I am one to criticize other religions. . . I leave that to the devotees of the aforementioned patriarchal deity.

Goddess inspired necklace

Not sure if this belongs here, feel free to delete.

I came across this wonderful pendant of a beautiful woman figure, which in my eyes is some kind of goddess or priestess, by the way she walks and the clothes she's wearing.. I made it into a necklace, picture under Collapse ).

Gift to the Goddess

Hi all, I'm an artist/videographer/photographer currently living in Alabama. I live in an area that's quite remote, so I have pretty much unlimited access to a lot of forest. Recently I've begun a body of work that has to do with a deeply spiritual connection I feel with the earth, and with all things that live and die upon it.

Spiritual Seeker

Greetings all,
I'm new to this LJ community. I'm a priestess and a mystic, and some of my dreams include offering spiritually transformative work through events, classes, conferences.

I'm currently working to plan an Imbolc event celebrating Brigid, and offering spiritual growth work as well as community building and leadership training. If you're in the KC area, you might be interested in attending the event. I'm hoping to travel around and offer conferences like this.

My ultimate goal is to travel around and build shrines, temples, community centers, and perhaps even a seminary for pagans and priestesses. If this kind of work is of interest to you, I'd love to hear from you.

A Couple of Questions:

First, i want to ask what sort of rituals, works, etc. you all engage in on the New Moon.  Just curious, i suppose.

Second, can anyone give me a link to a website that will show the Moon's astrological placement for each day in 2008?  I have a Farmers' Almanac and Llewellyn's Magical Almanac, but they are in disagreement as to the moon's placement for each day.  I'm wondering which is correct.  I've tried searching google using several phrases, but all to no avail.

Thank you. :O)
