If you are sending me an ask for a fundraiser, please do not spam my inbox. I have over 400 asks and having to clear out over 10 asks sent around the same time by the same person makes it very difficult to check and reblog vetted fundraisers.

Due to the high number of asks, I will be temporarily closing down my inbox so I can get through it without being overwhelmed.

I would also like to ask for people to not spam my dms - it makes it harder for me to get to everybody and I get overwhelmed (which leads to me ignoring it)

I also do not currently have funds to donate - I am a full time college student with a tuition of 7k per semester (plus I have to deal with books and parking). I also have families I am helping that take priority.

welp! I can’t believe it happened, but apparently, ao3 did a mass deletion of a ship tag. Idk if it’s the supposed 1 person, but seeing how the community is reacting, it’s looking like more than 1 author got their fics deleted with no warning. I’m so disappointed it happened in ao3 and I’m just waiting for response about it because the jump of fic numbers was too extreme to not be noticed. 8k to 5k man. Ship war might be a reason for it, but again, I’m just waiting to see if my support ticket gets response. Also has this happened before? Like on ao3 in particular?

AO3 periodically puts its foot down with serial offenders who refuse to stop using AO3 to funnel people to their kofis, and non-fanwork spam gets deleted. It's unlikely that they just deleted a bunch of fanworks for no reason though.

Because people still think that worthless methodology on the Top 100 Ships means something, some fuckface posted three thousand spam works just to force their ship on there. No, not the AI fics of the show for toddlers. Machine translated repeat upload drabbles for one of the ten kajillion Genshin ships. Then they orphaned half of them or made them anon or something to try to pretend that the lurkers support them in e-mail other authors posted this flood too.

Now that AO3 has gotten around to deleting their spam, they're apparently wailing about it somewhere on social media and trying to paint AO3 as censors. This is resulting in a flood of lackeys whining to AO3 about how Concerned™ they are.

You can tell AO3 doesn't actually believe in deletions because Genshin Impact fandom hasn't been booted off the archive for being fucking annoying.

On the Left is the Domino from the MCU/Deadpool 2 movie, and on the Right is her comic book design.

As some of you who actually pay attention to this blog might be aware of there are several tropes that this falls into.

The first major one being that only black people are capable of having vitiligo. I'm all for adaptations having more diversity in their casts, when done in a respectful manner, which this is not.

They took an aspect of the orginal comic design and turned it into vitiligo, which is another trope that I discuss on here way too often, where certain design aspects get turned into vitiligo when made into a more "realistic" setting, which objectifies and others the condition.

It also just looks really fucking bad like they put a sticker on her face like why the fuck does it look like that...

There's also the irony of her entire gimmick being luck manipulation and considering how rare (1% of the population) vitiligo occurs is just an absurd choice

EDIT: someone pointed out she has heterochromia which I completely missed some how and YEAH THATS A HIGE TROPE TOO OH MY GOD I HATE IT HERE

You can tell the design choice was made cause "it looks cool" not because they actually care about representation

things you can give characters that ARENT VITILIGO but still affect/change appearance:

  1. Magic scars - they can be any color or shape you want. They got struck with a weird spell, now they have a yellow heart on their shoulder. Think Harry Potter but more creative
  2. Chemical burns - a scar from a chemical burn can look weird, they don’t always look like regular scars (speaking from experience)
  3. burn scars
  4. Birth marks (how does everyone forget these exist??? You can have white birth marks btw)
  5. Face paint or body paint

An autoimmune disease isn’t aesthetic. It’s often devastating. If you think something like vitiligo is cool, then maybe you shouldn’t make an oc without understanding it. Maybe just create some random bs magic that isn’t vitiligo, just magic. There’s plenty of other things that can alter someone’s appearance that aren’t viltigo

(I may be wrong about some of this and I’m sorry if I am but I’ve been trying to do research.)

I appreciate the sentiment but those are all (minus the paint) still things that can be disabling one way or another, especially with the burns, and shouldnt be a catch-all for vitiligo alternatives.

Because people want their characters to be uwu special and the only acceptable differences they can put up with are things they can turn into aesthetics without the characters consent and tattoos require the character to not only consent to them but be an appropriate age (with what is culturally appropriate or circumstantially acceptable) to get them. Theres also still a huge stigma around tattoos and a lot of people still face discrimination because of them.

calling it before anyone else can. some time in between the giant & imperial wars percy teaches piper to skateboard in return for piper teaching percy to surf so they can both get back at their dumbass friends for teasing them (10y/o nico: how come you've never surfed ur literally the son of the sea god + 15y/o leo valdez: but piper ur telling me the skater girl act is performative??!?!?) and they both FAIL. hands down. percy has no idea why, he should logically be good at this. his disappointment reassures piper, who almost dies her first time on a skateboard. they make a mutual pact to never tell anyone about this (nico & leo would eviscerate them.) on the bright side, piper finally learns protocol for dealing with concussions, which is useful for her because, well, Jason, and percy befriends a bunch of sea animals because nine times out of ten every time he falls under a wave he gets distracted (ADHD) and starts chatting with a fucking Seal or whatever else is nearby until Piper shouts at him to get back on the board. win for all i guess

Ok, but how funny would it be if Ace never actually killed anyone? Remember back when he was ten on that fucking cliff and Dadan told him, "you almost killed those guys" and he was just like, "fuck I wish I did." And again, Luffy, Kaido, Whitebeard, blabla.

He never killed any of them.

He tries.

He just keeps failing.

Ace, who never even had a first kill + Luffy with a body count but he doesn't intentionally kill + Sabo with a Body Count.
