Welcome

gladly_teach is a community for teachers -- past, present, and future -- to come together and talk about the good, the bad, and the ugly in this profession. While most members are likely to come from the college/university community, those who teach at the elementary and secondary level are also welcome, as are folks who teach on a more ad hoc basis (for instance, librarians who run student workshops).

All posts to the community should be friends-locked to the community. This is meant to be a safe space to discuss teaching issues from the teacher's perspective. Members are, however, encouraged to use their discretion in making posts, preferably not using real names for their institutions, their students, or their colleagues.

If you wish to join, please leave a comment at this post that states that you are/have been/are in the process of becoming a teacher; if you are a graduate student, be aware that your double role as student and teacher can mean that you may read posts and comments that criticize grad students as well as undergrads, and don't take those as personal attacks. [The comment needs to be left elsewhere as this comm allows members only to post. Rest assured I will see it!]
