I noticed there's another repo for maintaining python3 compatibility. Is there a specific reason why that was done instead of trying to make python-saml both 2 and 3 compatible? I ask because I'm willing to do the effort to merge them into one repo, using six, like most libs/frameworks.
Benefits are plenty, but mainly is maintainability.
