Project Information
- Project Name: Infini Racer
- Project Haiku: I like to drive fast...but I really don't like to crash...make it easy on me
- Project Analogy: It's like Wipeout made in 1979
Project Description
Infini Racer is a minimalistic browser based game for people who appreciate the aesthetic of the original Asteroids The idea is that you can drive as fast as you like, no limits, top speed infinity – this may or may not be possible. Players finding the optimal speed may find themselves in a trance-like state. This a perfect game to play during meetings.
The game is open source with a liberal but non-commercial license. It's free to play and will include a very minimal hi-score system. For people stupid enough to pay, we will package it up as an app – essentially a PWA. We will charge $1.99 for the privilege, reminiscent of Mastertronic's budget titles of the early 80s. When the game goes viral, enough people will buy it that BIF will make millions of dollars.
We will use our combined views and experience of gaming to contribute feedback and incorporate more bad ideas into the game itself. The sound design will be strongly correlated to the game play and will launch a new music genre known as ambient trip-thrash.
This game will be implemented purely by AI, leaving the designer free from any programming constraints. Each version with prompt and summary will be preserved, allowing visitors to the website to try and download any iteration.
Bylaw Questions
How is this project a bad idea?
You can drive as fast as you like.
If this project were a D&D Character, what alignment would it be and why?
Alignment (CHOOSE ONE):
Where are the lulz?
We are free to make the game that our collectively weird brains can imagine. The game becomes increasingly more bizarre the further you progress until you realise that the game has essentially disappeared and you have become part of an audiovisual art project. It will morph in style into you find yourself battling a huge psychedelic hedgehog. Think LlamaSoft
How does this project make people thinking face emoji?
You can drive as fast as you like until you encounter the psychedelic hedgehog.
