Changing Minecraft Versions
  1. Close Minecraft.
  2. Go back to the Minecraft launcher (that screen where you hit the "Play" button).
  3. In the bottom-left corner of the window, click "New Profile".
  4. At the top of the window that appears, type 1.8. Find the box that says "Use Latest Version" and change it to 1.8.9.
  5. Click OK, then click Play to go back to Minecraft 1.8.
  6. When you want to switch betweeen Minecraft 1.8 and 1.9, just use the box in the lower-left corner of the Minecraft launcher.

WARNING: DO NOT OPEN ANY WORLDS FROM MINECRAFT 1.9 INSIDE MINECRAFT 1.8. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL LOSE DATA.
