The Quintessentials are moving to Portland in late May/early June and need to replace our drummer and bass player, both of whom can't relocate with the band. We have 3 full-length albums out (two of which have appeared on the History Channel aready), and plan on releasing a lot more once we find the right members, as well as touring.
We're a horror punk band with a sound influenced by bands like the Ramones, Screeching Weasel, Misfits, Connie Dungs, The Queers, and a bit of 80s/early 90s black metal. Yeah, it might sound like an odd combo, but it works.
Anyone interested in more info can email us directly at band@thequintessentials.com and we'll talk.
Aside from that, I'd like to know more about the punk rock scene in Portland; shows, venues, record stores, etc., if any of you feel like discussing it.
I'm going to get a few tattos, but I don't know where to go. A top five list would help. I'd like to avoid getting ganggreen and AID's if at all possible. Thanks!

the weather is crappy, is cold and wet... all your motivation to do anything has probably turned to shit... which means its that perfect time of year again for portlanders to get off there ass and start doing things: for instance tonight is first thursday (incase anyone forgot)
all the yuppies are light weight so the galleries shouldnt be crowded, as far as i can tell, november may turn out to be the best first thursday yet!
