After the storm ended you could see the back edge of it passing off to the east, lit by the sun as it set in the west. One of those things that just seems huge when you’re standing there

Last year in late August. Crickets then cicadas and a little surprise at the end

Young fluffy yellow-shafted flicker in the lilac today. I saw it at the bird bath too. Of course there are plenty of them around but I almost never see them on this property! I hope it’s here to eat the ants. We have a lot and it is welcome to them.
