"this is yuri to me" and it's a hetship "he's a woman to me" and not even a faint whisper of transfeminism. so, why don't you put your money where your mouth is and make that fictional man into a woman? or do you just think of him as submissive and breedable, traits that you've arbitrarily ascribed to women for some reason? and why don't you put a canon woman with another woman in your "yuri" art? can you not think of a canon woman worth it?

sorry i missed the gala of suitors i was outside picking on the weird girl in the garden tending to weird looking plants. yeah she had a little shack with a cauldron back there it was gross. anyways she gave me something to drink and now im madly in love with her so we need to start planning a wedding or whatever

Sorry I missed the crones' union meeting. The fuckingg princess showed up??? She wouldn't leave until I gave her a dr pepper. She got this really weird look in her eyes drinking it. I guess shes only used to beverages with 22 or fewer flavors

this has been discussed before but reducing female characters to the girlboss braincell holder in the name of combating misogyny in fandom is ironically also a form of misogyny

snowberry-pie

people love love loooove to go on and on and on about whiteguy #135336843’s internal torment and the nuances of his writing and then when it comes time to talk about women it’s all um actually she can do no wrong and holds the braincell and babysits the boys like a mother hashtag feminism. i hope you fucking blow up

Also, before someone asks "how do you feel about the Wattpad v ao3 situation and people comparing it to colonization and ICE":

I think this is what happens when you let people think "ACAB includes fandom police" is an acceptable thing to say. That's all.

Do NOT cite to me the ""potential loss" of inclusion and support of stories of color on ao3 with censorship" to me. We are not pawns that you throw up in order to protect your own comfort. There already ISN'T inclusion, support nor safety of authors of color in fandom already. We've already had this conversation. You can't threaten me with the loss of what I already don't have.

creatingblackcharacters

As two examples, there was 1) the time that AO3 went down and people invented the idea of Sudani terrorists attacking the servers, and 2) two of the top three Black characters in ship pairings were the radio demon from Hazbin Hotel. I assure you, there is no love for real people of color (and certainly not Black people) from the supporters of AO3 en masse. And I am also a user of AO3! I just think we need to be honest about what's going on without comparing these things to literal police and fascist violence.

you guys really need to stop saying that people don't contribute to a fandom unless they're making fanart or writing fanfics or doing something creative where the final output is "content".

i've seen enough posts parroting this sentiment that makes me believe it's not just one person's dumb take, but a growing belief and that boggles my mind.

commenting, engaging, encouraging, and yes, even geeking out about your favorite artist or your favorite fic IS contributing to a fandom. it is vital to the general fandom ecosystem, the way creating and sharing fanworks is!

hot take comments like "I hope I get cyclosporiasis I want to lose 10 lbs" are not only obvious fatphobia but also part of mass illness normalization that has been an ongoing effort since 2020 to minimize the dangers of disease and infections

They want to act like high levels of sickness whether it be airborne or foodborne are normal and not the responsibility of agencies like public health or food safety regulation so they can get away with dismantling them.
