Genderbending Manga

The community has been kind of quiet so I thought I would come in with some of the newer gender bending manga fun.

In the new Shojo Beat Magazine there is Kaze Hikaru...which is about a girl joining up with the soon to be Shinsengumi. Amazing how the members of the shinsengumi keep making appearences in different forms. Maybe I just have been watching too much Peacemaker K.

Also advertised is one that I am interested in called Ouran High School Host Club. This one is about a girl who knocks over a really expensive vase that belonged to her schools mysterious 'Host club" where the boys are really hot and rich and she is forced to work to recupe the damages since they all think she is a boy.

Let's see, also in Shojo Beat there is Crimson hero. The main character here is a major tom boy and is often mistaken as a boy...although the manga isn't driven by this, (she comes from a very tradition, very feminine family and all she wants is to play vollyball) but it is a good one so I thought I'd recoomend it.

Basara is starting to look like its going to end soon so I just wanted to through out there that Red River has the same sort of epic feeling and is a very good manga you might be into as well. Red River doesn't have the mistaken identity thing though...

So there you go! The new Hana Kimi is out and last Girl Got Game rocked so..yeah.

Any other new Manga you guys seen fit the bill?

um...a little into....ummmm.....*grins*..well i have over 60 manga in my collection including....hot gimmick, eerie queerie, girl got game, um....ooo...all five of the bebop....i can't remember them all.....gah!...oh well...^_~


*grins*....um.....hmm...ooo..wait i also love anime...and video games like the final fantasty series...i love to read as you can see by my manga addiction....like pokemon...(no i don't watch that crap)....gotta catch them all...*scratches head*..hmmm....these something else....

Anyone else feel gipped in Hana Kimi #3 that her friend still hasn't found out that she is a girl??!! He is so sweet and that bath scene toyed with my emotions.

Also...that hotel worker guy....got off wayyyy too easily...why he felt remorse was so the wrong reason.

There was so much new stuff out that I am sured I passed Cheeky Angel several times before my eye caught it. The back sounds funny and the review in New Type sounds positive but has anyone actually READ it yet? I am starting to wear my wallet thin on manga addiction!

For those who haven't seen it this is what I got out of it. Boy is a tough kid and wants to be the manliest man ever, one day he and a friend find a genie in a bottle and he wishes to be the manliest man. The genie somehow makes him the girliest woman. Several years later he is total hottie at school but hasn't given up on his "manliest man dream".

Anyone read it?

Dear lord I think I love you all!! This is exaclty the kind of stuff me and my friend love. Oh I read GGG #4. its super funny. I love them. and there a new charcter, yuri.

Anyone read Les Bijoux? The story seemed really weird to me from the back of the book...A guy born from a hunchback and a dwarf? Turns into a girl occasionally?

I borrowed it from a friend and I think it has its merits I guess...but mostly it reminds me of Basara in a lot of ways...

Okay the newest stuff I got was Hana Kimi #2, Eeire Queerie #2, and Girl Got Game #3.

Hana Kimi was hilarious. Her brother and the doctor were a riot. I love the doctor a lot. He had me crack up at least 3 occasions.

Girl got Game was awesome but I thought the end was a little anticlimatic. It was like that bitchy girl cheated in the plot! If she was going to do that...I would have guessed she would have done it earlier.

Eeire Queerie remains so cute. Some hints of bondage in this one...it kind of freaked me out at the time. OH and when the priest put cat ears on his new playmate, I almost died.
