I love animation, food, and being a gremlin.
Obsession is a light word to describe anything I am interested in.

All other horrors aside, I have to admit it's pretty fucking funny that JD Vance probably thought being trumps VP would get him respect.

Every passing day he just looks more and more like the mascot for a German chocolate candy company.

Some people age like fine wine, then there's Vance aging like late 90s CGI

I miss when vice presidents were made using practical effects.

No one would ever abduct JD Vance because it would mean having JD Vance. I bet his wife keeps dropping him off in strange locations and hoping he can't figure out how to find his way back. She tells everyone she's not married.

JD Vance inspires the kind of devotion that animals feel gnawing off their own limbs to get away.

He has an incredible physique, a neck that just screams out for being hanged at the Nuremberg trials.

Credit where credit is due, he probably inspired his mom to be pro-abortion.

JD Vance's wife spends all her time jealously scrolling Erika Kirk's single and ready to mingle social media feed.

His code name with the secret service is Meat Shield

He's always trying so hard to look like a strong man fascist, but instead he looks like the cover of a Spirit Halloween costume for "funny soviet dictator."

JD Vance is flop sweat that walks like a man.

JD Vance looks like a fairy godmother granted the wish of a blow up sex doll to be a real boy.

The reason your snacks are unsatisfying is that you need both carb and protein.

Carb starts your engine, protein keeps it going.

No carb, engine don’t start. No protein, engine dies out fast.

Easy carb add on:

  • Cookie
  • Fruit (canned or fresh)
  • Chips
  • Piece of bread
  • Popcorn
  • Crackers

Easy protein add on:

  • Nuts
  • Spoonful of nut butter
  • Cheese
  • Roasted chickpea snacks
  • Glass of milk (dairy or non dairy)
  • Small canned sausages or similar

Sugar in there.

I am pleased by people messaging me telling me that after adding a carb or protein to their snacks or meals they feel more satisfied all day. Yes, my plan is working. People are getting through their days with less hangry.

you hear about recovery not being linear (”there are ups and downs”), but actually it’s more like a game of wack-a-mole. this is not a bad thing

to extend the metaphor: when you’re at the beginning of your recover (less kindly known as rock bottom), you have a garden full of moles. you have a mole popping up every 5 seconds, and maybe it’s the same hyperactive mole, maybe it’s a bunch of moles taking turns, but whether they all look the same, you have a garden full of the fuzzy bastards.

so you pick up a mallet and start hitting. maybe you’re bad at using the mallet, maybe you get better over time, but after a while you get tired, bc you’ve been at it for ages and a mole is still popping up every 5, 10 seconds. what you don’t realize is, you’ve actually nerfed a lot of the moles. it’s just now there’s more space for the other ones to come to the surface and start making noise. but if you keep. swinging. the mallet. eventually they’re gonna slow down.

My recovery began when I started treating my depression & moved away from an abusive environment. It took a long time for me to realize I was recovering, bc as soon as one thing improved, another popped up. As my depression improved, I became more alert and active–and discovered that my brain fog & self-isolation had inadvertently been covering up my sensory issues. I had enough energy to start school again–and bc I wasn’t sleeping & lounging all day, I was suddenly aware of my concentration issues. One mole bites the dust, another pops up.

but the secret is: there are a finite number of moles in the universe.

4 years I’ve been wacking away at these fuckers with a mallet. I’ve taken turns wacking depression and its cronies suicidal ideation & self-harm, followed in succession by previous dormant crap related to anxiety, adhd, spd, c-ptsd, and other 👎 acronyms. And behold: progress. (Atm i’ve finally convinced the furry piece of shit called Executive Dysfunction to come out of the ground, which is exciting bc wrangling this bastard means finally getting to work on longterm personal projects again.)  Moles still pop up from time to time, but my life has a lot more space for me in it

the moral of this story is: if u hit a mole over the head for long and hard enough eventually it learns to mind its own beeswax. KEEP WACKING

*peers closely* they fucking untypoed my wack-a-mole post

Due to people finding out that ICE are raping children, the children are being trafficked to another location where no one will find out.

…Those absolutely vile monsters (ICE)

…There are truly no ways to describe how truly truly sickening this is. I pray for all the girls being trafficked by ICE

Me: oh my goodness I’m so tired I didn’t sleep last night and I can’t wait to get off work and go to bed

My mom & fave aunt: we’re going shopping one state over if you want to come we will wait for you to get off work

Me:…..*posting this from the backseat of my auntie’s car while eating a candy bar she passed back to me while her and my mom yap*

I can always sleep! How many times can I get on their nerves?

did you have to use that photo for that

i mean good on them...? still paired with that image thats uh. interesting

I respect the fuck out of this. The whole site is trying its hardest to go against every selling point the dog robots have as its selling points.

The dog robots are supposed to be autonomous, threehalves is explicitly only for being piloted by a human. The giant horns make it difficult for this machine to enter through doorways, and that is the point. Coupled with the built-in weak points, it is very easy to disable this thing, so it can't be used by the police or the military effectively.

OP alluded to how unsettling the machine looks, and I believe that it was a concious decision; the robot dogs have garnered sympathy due to their apperance, which makes it easier for the police to morally justify their use. This thing? You're not gonna get many people to sympathise with it. The only people who would are monster and-or robot fuckers, and I believe these circles generally understand that a machine cannot be trusted (though of course many would willingly approach it for pervert reasons (positive) knowing full well it's a bad idea).

alright folks shit's about to get real (again)

Markup for the SCREEN ACT and KOSA is going to the Senate on WEDNESDAY AUGUST 5TH 2026. That's in TWO DAYS.

You need to contact your representatives and senators. We need to stop this nonsense unless we want to wind up like the UK.

Call them. Send emails. Write letters. Use these resources to figure out who to contact and what to say. Let them know we will VOTE THEM OUT if they vote in favor of any of these bills.

The future of the internet depends on us.

another huge piece of advice: separate out 'tidying', 'cleaning' and 'organising' in your head. they're not the same thing and a lot of paralysis and overload comes from either misidentifying what your space needs, or trying to do all of them at once with conflicting goals.

TIDYING means clearing space, making your environment orderly and inviting. it usually entails removing clutter from surfaces, clearing the floor so you can move around easily, and creating psychological ease by putting everything visibly in its place. It's very visual, and can also involve things like straightening picture frames, squaring pillows, folding blankets on the couch, etc. It reduces chaos and noise and makes a space comfortable.

ORGANISING means sifting through belongings, ensuring that what doesn't need to be kept is thrown out and what does need to be kept is kept well. This often means categorising by room and function – teaspoons go in the teaspoon drawer, and the teaspoon drawer stays in the kitchen. It can also mean indexing things so you can find them easily (markers sorted by colour, paperwork divided into topical folders, books alphabetised) and preserving things (moving photos out of direct sunlight, keeping open flour in a sealed container, sleeving trading cards).

CLEANING means removing built up dirt, dust and grime, reducing the level of environmental contaminants and making your space sanitary. Bacteria are a fact of life, they love to hang out in dust and cling to pet hair and multiply on any given surface. Cleaning is how you keep that stuff in check, preventing it from building up to the point it affects your health. This means wiping frequently touched surfaces with disinfectant, sanitising utensils (doing the dishes), washing bedding and clothes (and yourself), and sweeping/vacuuming and taking out the trash to physically remove dirt from your home.

Tidying is not the same thing as organising – shove the mail, bills, dirty teaspoons and your gardening gloves in a drawer, and you've tidied the table. Sort the paperwork into piles by deadline, put the teaspoons in a cup, and roll the gloves together so they don't get separated, and the table is untidy but organised.

Similarly, a tidy or organised space can still be filthy. Just because all the yellowed newspapers and trash bags are sorted by date in the basement, out of sight, doesn't mean they're clean. A chaotic, cluttered space can still be very sanitary if it's being kept clear of refuse, and wiped and dusted often.

Sometimes tidying makes your space less organised, and vice versa. Organising often shakes out a lot of dust and makes the space dirtier. The classic "it's even worse than when I started" feeling is often the result of going into a room with the intent of tidying, then actually starting the task of organising instead. It's a lot easier to tidy an organised space, and organising first is usually the right instinct, but the distinction isn't intuitive so the sudden cluttering effect can be really demoralising. Remember they're three different things with different goals. Sometimes they overlap, but sometimes they conflict. That doesn't mean you're doing it wrong.

today I found out my mother doesn’t know what dandelions are and now I’m wondering what other strange secrets she’s been quietly harboring

Where do you live that you don’t have dandelions?

we have dandelions EVERYWHERE, they are basically our State Weed, it is absolutely impossible that my mom has never interacted with a dandelion before, this requires further investigation

So after extensive interrogation I have an update:

  • my mom is in fact aware that dandelions exist. she temporarily forgot the name and there was some miscommunication.
  • the truth is actually weirder
  • she’s aware dandelions look like this

she is familiar with this flower. she knows the name of this flower. she declines to believe, however, that these are also dandelions

she does not believe these are the same plant. I tried to explain, and she thought I was either misinformed or lying. so I asked her what exactly did she think the yellow ones were called?

she answered, with complete confidence: Daffodils.

gosh I enjoy this website

For comparison, this is a daffodil

See, folks in the southern US will tell you up and down those are buttercups, actually.

i don’t think so? i’m southern and buttercups are what we call these things (much tinier)

Wait I thought those bigger cup ones were Easter Lillies???

This is an Easter Lily. It is an actual lily and therefore deadly to cats.

They’re marigolds and I know a bitch when I see one!

This is a marigold:

….we need to start taking the phrase “go touch grass” more literally. go outside and examine a flower i beg u

“buttercups” is a name applied to MANY flowers. in my part of the south it was this one:

imo there’s correct identifications of dandelions, daffodils, easter lilies and marigolds in this thread, but buttercups are simply impossible to agree on and the only solution is for everyone to post pictures of their local buttercups

*squints* is that a motherfucking EVENING PRIMROSE?!??

Hello I would like to add to the confusion:

That purple fella is a Morning Glory as told by my mothers (texan)

⬆️ morning glory

#amazing work everyone hit the flowers

no one talks about how straight up painful it is to be the bigger person when deep in your soul you just want to be a huge bitch about it

there’s this wonderful quote I keep seeing going around:

“when you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression”

and I would just like to say:

  • adults who think parents hitting children is discipline but children hitting parents is the height of intolerable disrespect
  • adults who think children should obey every order they’re given and if they feel comfortable arguing or negotiating that means they’re “taking control” and “making demands”
  • adults who think smartphones and cars are necessities of life for themselves but that any teenager who wants a smartphone or a car is “entitled”
  • adults who interrupt children all the time but yell at children when they interrupt adults
  • adults who act like lowering the voting age is going to cheapen their vote somehow
  • adults who complain about having to share public spaces with children

why do children deserve equal footing with parents if they do not contribute to their own housing, education, and living? Why should a dependent get to make demands of their benefactor, assuming the benefactor is not abusive? (Obviously I’m opposed to hitting your children to discipline them, or verbally abusing your kids, but if you’re going to be a disobedient child you deserve some form of civilized punitive measures.) Why should a kid feel entitled to smartphones and cars if they didn’t earn the money to buy them themselves?

Obviously this doesn’t apply to minors who contribute to their households, buy their own shit (with the money they themselves earned, not a friggin allowance), and have legitimately abusive parents. Kids are entitled if these circumstances do not apply to them, and they’re still making the above demands. If you want to live life on your terms, become completely independent. If someone is bankrolling you, put up with their rules and don’t be an entitled brat. If you want equality with your parents, contribute equally in terms of work and financial input to your household, otherwise you don’t have a leg to stand on.

Again, this does not apply to kids whose parents are actually abusive, or who do in fact contribute financially and labor-wise. The rest need to learn how to respect and obey their parents.

“why do children deserve equal footing with parents?” really? for the same reason women deserved equal footing with men even when very few of them worked outside the home, you unfathomably dense avocado pit: because human beings’ right to equal status and dignity does not depend on their income. the better question is, how fucked in the head by a toxic mix of capitalism and ageism do you have to be to think “I pay the rent, therefore I deserve to be treated as generally superior to you” is a reasonable argument?

and as for the assertion that kids should earn their own money to pay for things…guess what. they can’t. they can’t because adults have decided that “for their own good”, kids can’t work for any significant pay - instead, they have to spend between 60 and 80 hours a week at school and on school-related activities, contributing to a trillion-dollar education industry that gainfully employs millions of adults, and never see a cent of income from that labor. and when adults, over the years from around 1870 to 1950, decided that was going to be the new social contract for kids, they agreed to fucking pay for things for them. just like on an individual level, when adults decide to have kids, they agree to fucking pay for things for them. you don’t take away the ability to earn money on a scale greater than pocket change from 1/3 of the population and then say “well, why should you feel entitled to things if you can’t pay for them?” see above, re: capitalism and ageism fucking you in the head.

also, using the word “disobedient” to describe a human being is creepy as all hell, because it presumes that submissiveness to someone else’s commands is the default state for that person. what you’re describing when you talk like this is abuse. (no matter how many times you say “oh but of course I don’t mean kids who are *actually abused*” - as you define it, of course.) no human being is morally obligated to be “obedient”. believing they are is an abusive mindset.

and before you go off on some dumbass tangent about kids playing in traffic, I’d like to point out that the sheer number of adults who think not letting someone you love get killed is functionally the same as insisting on the right to absolute power over their daily lives is the scariest goddamn thing I’ve ever encountered.

“respect and obey their parents”? no. fucking no. when parents say “respect”, they do not mean “respect”. they mean “treating my word as law, my whims as edicts, and my desires as more important than your own, and being thankful for the privilege.”

parents need to learn to respect their children. and, as was the original point of this post and as you’ve just so handily demonstrated, adults need to stop thinking that treating children like human beings is degrading to them.
