insight on coming out!! really important!

Hi Guys!

I just watched the most important film I’ve watched all year called Coming Out Stories. Its a documentary made by Logo, the LGBT channel, and it follows several different people as they come out to the most important people in their lives. I was really glad I saw it and finally understood what my sister went through. I found the DVD for rental from this site - http://www.logoonline.com/netflix.

The Gender Public Advocacy Coalition is pleased to announce the release of its 2008 GENIUS Survey in partnership with Ernst & Young.  GenderPAC works to ensure that classrooms, communities and workplaces are safe for everyone to learn, grow and succeed.

The Gender Equality National Index for Universities & Schools (GENIUS), GenderPAC’s most recent effort to end discrimination and promote awareness, encourages colleges and universities to recognize the benefits of a GenderSAFEtm campus - supportive equitable and protective for all students. Choosing to participate in GENUIS sends a strong public statement that bullying or discriminating based on the race, sex or gender of a student, faculty, or staff member is not tolerated at your institution

Fill out the survey at:  www.gpac.org/GENIUS2008survey, and make sure that we have data for as many schools as possible. Your voice will help us continue to work towards a safe and welcoming environment for every student.

While we greatly appreciate the interest taken in GENIUS by students, staff and faculty at academic institutions outside of the United States, at this time GENIUS is only able to track schools based in the United States.

Pretty Please?

Just asking you to take this survey ... only take 10 minutes of your time.
Click here to take the survey now

It is for my term paper related to "homosexuality" for my Abnormal Psychology Online course.

It is a multiple choice type of survey, and all of your results will be confidential. Please make sure that you read each statement carefully and be honest with your responses.

Let me know if you have any questions, feedbacks or comments about it. :) Also, feel free to forward this to anyone who would be willing to take this survey.

Many Thanks! Peace....</p>

In response to heat they're getting from the American Family Association, P&G is conducting a phone poll to see if people are for or against the Luke/Noah storyline on As The World Turns. Even if you don't watch the show, please consider taking a quick moment to support boy kissing and thwart homophobic bigotry. The poll is completely automated. You don't have to talk to anyone. And it really does take all of a second to register your opinion.

Just call 1-800-331-3774 and press #2 to get to the ATWT poll, then press #1 to continue the storyline.

Please spread the word if you're so inclined.

Coming out is an intense and personal process that millions of people have gone through.

Everyday people try to make the people around them understand their sexual and gender identities and orientations. Whether you are gay, bisexual, transgendered, intersexed, a 6 on the Kinsey scale, a crossdressing female, a genderfucked lesbian, or a pansexual tap-dancing monkey I want to hear your story. Whether you have a story about coming out to friends or family, or a story about why you choose not to or can't, I want to hear it.
I want you to bear your hearts to me, so I can bear them to the world.

I'm working to compile hundreds of stories of coming out, so as to take a few and make monologues of them.
These will then hopefully be combined into a performance theatre piece, along the lines of the vagina monologues.

Let the world hear our stories :)

You can send me your story, whether it be a few sentences or a few pages, to this post on livejournal (you do not need an account, you can simply post anonymously).

Here is the link to that entry:
