I don’t know.

sometimes people experiencing psychosis and/or mania will come up to you on the street and talk in confusing or upsetting ways. your job is to either have a regular human-to-human conversation with that person or politely leave. your job is not to call 911. do not call 911. you might kill that person if you call 911.

I don't even have the energy to screenshot and respond to your tags- what the actual fuck is wrong with you? "the cops are scared and rightfully so" "mental health calls are the scariest for cops" OH so this isn't about the safety of psychotic & manic people this is about piggy feelings?

and no, actually, this is not USA specific and no, actually, people from other countries should not ignore this post. police violence and sanism weren't invented in the US and they are certainly not unique to here. if you (or anyone) thinks that this bullshit doesn't happen elsewhere then you are not listening.

cops r Some Guy with a Gun

do we want Some Guy with a Gun in this situation? answer is usually "NO"

This is legitimately useful reframing. A while ago I started replacing the word "cop" in my vocabulary with "a man with a gun." It really puts things into perspective.

This homeless person is making me uncomfortable. Should I call [a man with a gun]?

My neighbor is having a loud party. Should I get [a man with a gun] involved?

There are some teenagers skateboarding. Do you think [a man with a gun] would get rid of them for me?

It makes it very clear what you're saying. I can call a man with a gun to threaten or hurt someone mildly inconveniencing me. You're not calling the cops, you're calling A MAN WITH A GUN into a situation that does not warrant a firearm handled by a volatile lunatic who will not be held accountable for his actions.

Poorly trained men with guns are not meant to handle a mental health crisis. If the person is not an active danger to themselves or others, do nothing. If you have reason to suspect risk of harm, call in a “health crisis that may require medical intervention.”

me as a teenager: man it sucks to have no privacy or autonomy but i guess its for a good reason. when i turn 18 i will realise how young i was and understand why they did all that.

me as an adult: teenagers are an oppressed class, their abuse is normalised and systemic and they need to start killing people

Teenagers are children that are expected to act like adults without any of the freedoms or autonomy adults are afforded, and adults are somehow confused why teenagers are “difficult.”

[image ID: a cycle with “inaccessibility” at the top, leading to “disabled people unable to participate” leading to “disabled people not visible in public” leading to “disabled people seen as an outlier/rarity” leading to “‘so there’s little/no need to consider them’” leading back around to “inaccessibility” again. At the bottom it is labeled as the Inaccessibility Cycle. Behind the text is the symbol of a person in a wheelchair. End ID]

When you bring up respirators in this context, people lose their shit.

Something like this would be so colossally helpful. I'm sick and tired of trying to research specific clothing from any given culture and being met with either racist stereotypical costumes worn by yt people or ai generated garbage nonsense, and trying to be hyper specific with searches yields fuck all. Like I generally just cannot trust the legitimacy of most search results at this point. It's extremely frustrating. If there are good resources for this then they're buried deep under all the other bullshit, and idk where to start looking.

>:)c

May I present to you, nationalclothing.org?

It doesn't have everything, but it's still my first source when researching traditional clothing from other cultures.

There's also this resource on historical fashion: Claire’s Historical Fashion Reference & Resources

another addition as far as physical media goes there is the encyclopedia of national dress (that i still need to buy myself bc this kind of thing is super important to my sort of fantasy designing) but yes i do agree i wish there was EVEN MORE documentation on this

I don’t believe in the “Paradox of Tolerance.” To tolerate something, you have to have some amount of negative feeling about it. I’d like to believe that most people who are allied with a marginalized group are just using the word wrong, but considering it’s a known phenomenon of “allies” acting bigoted the moment someone questions their methods of allyship, I think it’s an accidental confession sometimes.

I think one of the worst reactions to celebrity “controversies”, aside from still supporting them, is going, “yeah, they’re not even talented.” Like…that’s not the fucking point…

An influential and rich person hurt someone or said something terrible and you’re making it about how you hate their talents or lack thereof.

Saw some shit about Billie Eilish saying some privileged ass shit and someone goes, “can we take this opportunity to admit she’s a mid songwriter?”

No, because someone’s skill in the arts is entirely irrelevant to whether or not they’re a decent person. In fact, I will know as from this moment forward that you’d let someone get away with atrocities if they’re good enough at some art form. Fuck you!!

"This child cannot get this treatment because their parent said no" why is this normal to you!!! "This child, who is begging for treatment, cannot be given lifesaving medical care because their parent said no" is a wild statement!!!

Children should not need parental permission for medical care!! This doesn't just apply to life or death care*! A pregnant teen should be able to get an abortion without parental permission! Let teens go on birth control without parental permission! A kid should be able to see a doctor about a mental condition that is harming them and get it treated, even if their parent "doesn't believe it's real".

KIDS SHOULD BE ABLE TO HAVE MEDICAL AUTONOMY!!!!!

*it should be noted that the reasons I list after this can also be considered life or death, as a lack of access to them can be deadly.

IM JUST A RECOVERY COACH THAT IS FUCKING BEGGING YALL TO USE DRUGS SMARTER. IF YOU’RE GONNA USE, THEN YOU’RE GONNA USE. I CANNOT STOP YOU. JUST BE SAFE AND EDUCATED.

Always use clean needles. Most pharmacies sell over the counter narcan. There are hotlines that will talk to you as you’re using, judgement free, they’re just there to make sure you don’t OD. I’m begging y’all to utilize these resources.

And I know that you’re in the trenches when you’re using. I was an addict. I’ve been in the trenches myself. And I was able to pull myself out and I know you can too. And I know that it starts with the destigmatizing and non judgement of those who use

Also: NURSES AND EMTS ARE NOT NARCS. HIPAA EXISTS. ALWAYS tell medical professionals what drugs you’ve been on.

Reblogging for other’s safety!!

No, actually, i want cables and not bluetooth, i don't want touchscreens, i want buttons and knobs, i want to be able to take the battery out of my phone, i want to charge my phone and plug in head phones at the same time, i want a cd drive in my laptop and not have to buy an external drive, i want a car without a display, i want to turn on the lights with a switch not with my voice, i want to have a paper cinema ticket not a QR code, i want to listen to illegally burned music on a 00s cd player, i want to watch movies that i actually own, i want to read news once a day on paper, i want to aimlessly flick through magazines and not doomscroll on social media, i want to write emails and not talk to chatbots, i want to own stuff without hundreds of digital subscriptions, i want

And fuck all that fancy tech bullshit they do to random shit like vending machines and shit. There is not a single vending machine on my college campus that’s accessible to people with visual impairments or fine motor issues. Fuck that.

I have a Poppy Playtime theory that’s driving me mad. Spoilers below:

The Prototype is absolutely the one who sent the letter to worker, and it’s unlikely that the player is the only worker that was summoned. Huggy could have attacked from the very beginning but didn’t. He actually played a part in helping us(having the key to the power room). Most of the toys on the lower floors look terrible, and yet, Huggy, Mommy, and the Game Station toys don’t look as bad. My guess is that they feasted on any previous workers that showed(and most of them likely didn’t survive Huggy). The Doctor and various others knew about the letter and the search for the missing coworkers. Plus, all the conveniently placed notes and tapes(while part of the story telling aspect an explanation for them feels needed). Ms. Delight was likely more surprised that the worker made it that far rather than surviving the Hour of Joy(no company has 100% of its employees scheduled at the exact same time after all).

So the real question in my eyes is: why summon employees?

To further my theory: He was worried about Mommy turning on him or Doey feeling forced to take a stand. He’s weaker or less versatile than them and fears he won’t be able to win in an all out fight. To counter this, he tried getting humans to come. He wanted to see if the grabpack could be of use with the right person to weaken or kill his biggest threats.

Tldr: The Prototype sent the letter so someone could handle his problems.
