B5 - Too Young for Pain

Ow.

So, we went out to dinner tonight. We were trying to get to Long John Silver's -- the only one in the area is miles away in Frederick, so we drove for an hour or so till we got where it is. The mall it's in closes at 6, and apparently, it closes at 6. Even the restaurant with external doors was closed. Freaky shit.

Okay, so no yummy chips with malt vinegar, no hush puppies, and no fish. *sigh*

We headed off to Carrabba's, otherwise known as the Italian restaurant with the bushes on the roof. Had delicious food, had a lot of it packed up to go, paid, and left.

And when I thought I was taking one more step to go off the curb, I was already at the edge of the curb. Stupid lack of depth perception. I went down hard, hit my right knee the hardest, braced myself with my bad wrist (right hand) and scraped my left hand. Nothing broken, just scraped up and OW.

A nice guy who was coming to pick up an order stopped and asked if we needed him to call an ambulance, but at that point I was able to sit up and move my leg okay without any shooting pain or anything, so I told him it was okay. Was nice of him to ask, though.

My knee's swollen and I have an ice pack on it right now. I've taken painkillers, and it would be really nice if they kick in some time soon. Ow.

OMG my body hates me

I am freaking exhausted.

However, the bathroom is cleaned, and ready for me to put in a nice 4-drawer plastic (Rubbermaid, I think) cart when we get one from Target tomorrow. Then I'll load it up with nifty bath stuff, and a lot of things will be off the floor or out of the cabinet.

Non-dryer laundry is done, and dryer laundry would be done except that we're under a tornado watch for the next few hours. So, while it's being scary and threatening, we're not going to risk losing power in the middle of washing or drying and then not having quarters left over.

And my body hurts.

But the bathroom looks a lot better. Whew!

*thud*
Mulan - Oh Crap!

Impala vs. Pilot = ouch

So, I'm taking the lazy way out of this -- leviathanmuse did most of the work over here. I can't really add any additional info, other than that the X-ray room was the unlit X-ray room of dooooooom. Seriously, the only light in that room was the little lightbox itself. The hall light and the light from the room where the controls are was what the little skinny X-ray tech was using to see by. It was kind of eerie -- like the haunted wing of the hospital or something.

So, with my totally stressed-out week, and one coming up that'll be just as bad, this has to happen tonight. This is NOT how we wanted to spend our weekend... :| My chest hurts...

Ugh ow eep

So, today, our day off, we spent getting the kitchen empty (again) for the exterminators to come tomorrow. I'm SORE. I still have to do two loads of laundry, but there's only one working washer now, too. Argh.

Took a soma to try and get my back and hip and knees to calm down.

Anyway, since we were offline most of the day, not only am I something like skip=900 behind, but I've also missed out on more interesting stuff, AND not been able to complete a fic I had to get done. Argh.

If you had something I really, really should read, please comment here with a link to it. Thanks!!

And don't expect me to be here or coherent from 9pm to 10pm tonight. I'll be around after Heroes -- if it doesn't kill me :O

Bambi vs. Impala = draw

So. Today we went over to strangemuses place to watch Mushi-Shi and go to Cheeburger Cheeburger. Hrm. Is Mercury in retrograde again?

Let's see. The computer system at Cheeburger Cheeburger crashed so they couldn't even print our bill. We were sitting around for at least 20 minutes before anyone even bothered telling us what was wrong. Then they wanted us to go get cash to pay. Well, leviathanmuse and I have a Federal Credit Union that does not have ATM machines all over the place, PLUS neither of us have ATM cards because they'd be pretty useless. NO, we're not going to run all over trying to find money to pay you people when your computer system is the problem.

They had a bunch of the younger folks working, and apparently none of them thought of doing the good customer service thing and comp the meal (or even offer us glasses of water while we waited for it to get fixed). So, we finally left. We're going to call them tomorrow and talk to the manager and pay if they want us to, but omg people, please. Buy a clue.

On the way home from her place, we had a run-in with Bambi. Literally. I think he actually ran into us, not us hitting him, but either way it was scary and we HATE hitting animals (don't even ask about the exploded mourning dove...). The passenger side front panel has a big dent, the plastic roof of the wheel well cracked and came loose, and was scraping on the tire but I think I managed to get it hooked onto something to keep it out of the way until they can either stick it back on or remove it tomorrow. I think the housing of the front light is also cracked, but the light still works. Oh yeah, and there was a tuft of fur stuck in the seam. However, there was no sign of blood, and there was no sign of the deer so he must not have been too badly hurt.

*sigh* So tomorrow's plans have changed to 'call up the insurance folks then take the car to the dealership to find out when the repairs can get done'...

And now I can't remember my damned e-mail password. I changed it recently, but OMG WTF is it?!

ETA: Couple of hours later, I finally have my e-mail fixed. Good f-ing grief!

Dentist and other fun...

So. Dentist today. A month ago at the cleaning, the dentist who did the exam said 'there's a little crack in the filling on 15, so we're going to fix that, you probably won't even need novocaine'. I was all 'okay, as long as there's nitrous, I'm good -- no shots is always better,' and set up the appointment.

But, to make things even more fun, we got home and found out that yay, tomorrow they're starting the road repairs on our parking lot, and want ALL of the cars out of it at 6-freaking-am. Considering on a normal morning we don't go out until 8:30, there was no fucking way I was waking up at 5am so we could move the car. We've parked the next section over, and the last time I looked, the parking lot was still full. Hope all of them are morning people...

Ow.
