So mommies (and mommies to be)...what do you DRIVE??

So, starting this month, my fiance and I are TTC...and I want to know what's the best car I should have...
We're hardcore into cars, streetracing, car shows, etc and my hubby drives a 2000 Acura Integra GSR (it'd be a miracle getting him to sell his "baby"...his precious sports car lol MY 2000 Acura Integra GSR was stolen back in October, and rather than get another Teg, I got a '94 4 door Honda Civic EX. I thought it was reasonable because we knew we would be TTC soon, and I want something that would accomodate a baby more than a 2 door sports car. I chose the Civic EX because it's still sporty, but still functional. I can still race and do mods to it just like everyone else does, but it still has room for a car seat, diaper bag, groceries, etc whatever I need.
So, what do you moms and moms to be drive? I'm curious to see if you've gotten rid of your cars and gotten new ones to make room for the little one, or if you just kept what you had.

Hmm....

I went off the pill (Quasesnse, Seasonale generic) on May 22. I started my period on May 28, and it lasted until June 4.
I've heard of those who dont get a period at all for months after stopping the pill. TCOYF tells me to expect my next period on June 25.
We're TTC and i'm trying to figure out of I ovulated this month. I do have OP strips but have yet to even open them...we've been trying like crazy and I still think that its too early for a HPT. I don't even *feel* pregnant, and usually when i'm pregnant I can at least tell when something is odd....so what gives?

Finally bought an ovulation test...

I finally broke down today and bought a box of ovulation tests. The brand that I got was Answer. I didn't realize they would be so expensive. I got a box of twenty strips for a little over 20 bucks. It says to start using them at the end of my next period and that I can test until I reach the LH. Is this correct?
Has anyone else ever used this brand? I've never used them, so i'm just wondering what to expect/quality. Also, is an OPK and an OT the same thing? My guess is yes, but I want to be sure. Also, i've looked online for a fertility monitor, and I was surprised how expensive they were also. I bought a blood pressure monitor for cheaper! The prices I found range from $150-$250 new. Does anyone know where I can get one for under $100??
Also, most of this stuff is kinda getting me nerved up/stressed out. Is there a simpler way I can do this? I'm trying to get the hang of charting my BBT, being more in tune with my body, using a few websites to track my cycle, etc...the only thing I almost refuse to do is to track my cervical mucus. It's almost impossible for me, since I naturally discharge a lot and can't tell the difference. Sometimes, the only time I get any kind of lubrication down there is when i'm really turned on. Weird how I can get pregnant while on HBC with no problem but when I go off the pill and we TTC on purpose, it seems like it's so much harder.

A question about BBT...

We're TTC as of this month after a stillbirth and 2 losses, and I find it kinda hard to track my BBT...I do have a digital thermometer, but since I never ever get up at the same time every day, how can it be accurate? Yesterday I got up at 10AM. Today, I got up at twenty to two since I was sick and up ALL night last night. So, how do I do it? Do I just take it when I first wake and record that temp nomatter what time it is, or should I set an alarm to wake up around say, 10AM and get up to track my temp then??

Although this community doesn't appear too active, I've joined in hopes of reading some similar situations.  Here's my intro:

Name:  Krista
Age:  28.5 / Husband is 35
Married to Chris for 2 years, been together for 6 years
Situation:  Chris has wanted a baby for a long time - I'm the one who has been putting it off.  I am pretty committed to going off BCP in September and then not not trying (I hate the term "trying to have a baby") by December.

Oh and we are only going to have one child.  It's what we agreed to (he wanted 2, I wanted 0 - we compromised at 1, however now I really want a baby, but still just 1).

That's about it!

More Questions Than Answers

So, perhaps I'm truly lame but I could find no 'memories' for this comm. If I'm wrong about this I'd truly appreciate some assistance finding them - I has the lames. Anywhoo, since I didn't find any memories, I've instead gone through TONS of old posts and I've seen my question asked more than once but there's not too much in the way of answers. What I'm looking for is recommendations for books to read BEFORE ttc. Suggestions for couples who are looking to have a natural pregnancy and birth to do during the months preceeding ttc. Like I said I've seen this or a variation of this asked more than once and there have been some helpful suggestions but I'm a total research freak and many of the books recommended are out of print or hard to find. So ladies - what are some of your favorite PRE-conception books currently in print specifically fro granola type mommies? Though I have not directly cross-posted I have asked this question in more than one comm so I apologize to any who see more than one of my posts! Thanks in advance!

pregnancy calendar

Hello,
I’m new to this community, my husband and I have just started TTC.

I’m looking for a pregnancy calendar. Not a journal where I have to write a bunch of stuff … but a calendar that comes with fun stickers like “pregnancy confirmed!” “told grandparents!” “first appointment”, etc. I’d like to buy this ASAP so I have it when I get pregnant.

Do you have any suggestions? My local bookstore didn’t have anything like this.

Thanks!

*wink*

Clomid Question

Is anyone out there taking clomid or thinking about it? I am going to the OBGYN on July 25th and I am going to go ahead and start it. The Mr. and I have had the appropriate tests and stuff and they think that  I am not ovulating everytime I have my period and so we need a bit of help. But mostly I am confused about how to count for when to take it because my period is irregular. It seems really complicated. Just wanted to know if anyone else out there has had any experiences..
