Ignore the Succession Crisis within the Ministry. It is time for the Summer Solstice- a time to break loose and relish in the warmth and light of summer. All around Hogsmeade and the Castle, torches glow. Villagers mix with attending parents and their children. Tourists flock to the Megaliths near Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, eager to see the dying light of the sun align perfectly within the stone, signaling the longest day. It is a time of Deep Magic, made doubly so by a rare astronomical alignment.
All is not well. For a number of years, fires have been set- bonfires- that were unsanctioned by the Ministry. Arsonists- the Ministry calms any tension. But something far deeper is taking place. A new trial is at hand for the Wizarding World, and they do not know it yet. There will be a victim this night- a victim of a terrifying new evil who has been biding its time and waiting for one foolish child to give fuel on this night of Deep Magic.
Full Circle is set in 2020, roughly twenty two years after the Battle of Hogwarts. The Ministry is undergoing slow, sometimes painful change as it is revolutionized. There has never been another Kingsley Shacklebolt, yet Ministers are routinely measured by his example. A Succession Crisis is coming to a head within the Ministry for who will be the Minister of Magic. But that is nothing compared to the genuine danger that the wizarding world faces all because of a careless action, and a rare astronomical alignment. A series of events are in motion that could topple all the progress the Ministry has made in not only the past twenty years, but the past one thousand.
Full Circle is a blend of game types. There is a central, longterm plot and a series of shorter term event markers. Like the canon Harry Potter series, there will be actions and consequences. But that does not stop characters from also living relatively normal lives- it is a school full of adolescents who attend class, make friends and come to grips with their world. Like Harry Potter's generation, they were faced with a darkness that could change all. The time of peace is over. It is written in the stars. Fate has come full circle.
