Rule #1 - No favoured pairings. People will keep others IC and CANON. If updates are released in North America about certain couples, then it can be brought into the RPG.
Rule #2 - One OC please, people. And it's gotta be damn good, fitting in well with the plot/characters/etc. There is a limited number of required OCs listed below. You can however take on as many Canon Characters as you like, although no more than you can actually handle and keep up with. By handle I mean, post WELL. You will be asked to keep a favourite in mind though incase the RPG gets more popular, and others want to play, you will have to give up your less favourite characters, maybe. Supporting characters will be casted according to need. Hana and Uotani (butchered her name probably), are definitely needed, but the assistant in the shop with Ayame can be easily played as NPC by Ayame's player, etc.
Rule #3 - Of course, the basics. Respect each other, even if you HATE/LOVE them, treat them like a decent human being. Keep compliments/snark/spam/etc to personal journals, not the community.
Rule #4 – Make an icon for each character you’re playing. If you’re making an icon for an OC try to choose a series (if you choose an anime or manga) that isn’t uber popular. Like, no OC’s with Chi as their icon, or I’ll hurl myself out a window, plzkthxbye. If you want to make a character journal, go right ahead, but it isn’t mandatory. If you want to post things in the character journal, relevant or not, go right ahead. Please don’t notify the community of when you’ve written in your characters personal journal, they are to be treated as rough notes, for you to get into character, not mandatory pieces of information of the RPG (1. because keeping track of 8 or more different journals from this one is difficult, especially when they're usually private thoughts, [if I can't do it, how can I ask others to?] and 2. I have yet to see the Furuba character cast, outside of maybe Hatori use a computer, not that it isn't possible, just highly unlikely all the entire cast writes their own little private journals). As if the character was actually writing a journal, the entire cast wouldn’t know about it. Don’t tie it in either, by having a character leave their journal out so someone can read it and link a personal entry, I’ll scream. (Not to say you can't have that story piece, just don't link it to an outside journal).
Rule #5 – BE IN CHARACTER. SPELL CHECK. TRY YOUR BEST TO USE PROPER GRAMMAR. As much fun as it is to SUE yourself all over the place, don’t have Kyou acting all lovey dovey to Kagura, or Yuki, or whoever. He doesn’t DO LOVEYDOVEY as much as you’d like him to. If you RAPE a character, you’ll get one warning before you’re banned. This is a serious offence. I know we are roleplaying and doing our best to get inside the character’s mind, but if you make them act drastically OOC, you’re gone in two tries. Know your characters before you play them. (I'm not going to ban you if you did minor things either! I realize as the manga goes on, characters change, and Yuki is becoming more vocal about stuff, that's ok.... Just when someone plays Yuki like Kyou, then it's serious damage).
Rule #6 – NC-17 posts are to be put behind a LJ-CUT with warning, in a FRIENDS ONLY POST. Really, there SHOULD NEVER BE any because it just simply isn’t canon. Flashbacks of Ayame’s past shouldn’t be that graphic, really, and where are the sexual pairings we’ve seen? Tohru? Having sex? I doubt it! Kagura rapes Kyou? That’s plain scary. There shouldn’t BE any sexual scenes, so if you feel the need for one, you have to ask yourself – is this for the story, or for me? If you desire one, WRITE ME BEFORE YOU POST IT PLZ.
Rule #7 – USE ENGLISH. Not ENGRISH or fangirl Japanese. This includes Baka Neko, Baka Nezumi, etc etc. Call them stupid mouse, stupid cat, etc.
Rule #8 – We can only play what has been released in North America (not to say we can't vary the plot). I know scanlation sites are great, and so are spoiler sites, and rumours, etc etc, but I don’t want to spoil things for people who don’t know them already. Every character will be played as if the only knowledge of them is the North American comics and anime (with minor liberities). As volumes are released you can use the knowledge for your character. Again, we're playing WITH the information we have, not limited TO playing only the plot that has occured.
Rule #9 - Please, I beg of you, please, if you're doing something drastic to a character or having some big plot device, please run it by me. I usually won't mind, but I want to make sure that it won't clash horribly with the huge sekrit plot I'm working out. It most likely won't, but when in doubt, just ask. Same goes for conflicts with other players and so on! I am here to HELP, don't feel alone! We can work it out somehow.
