On this day, 21 August 1970, the Black Panther newspaper published a letter from co-founder Huey P Newton in which he criticised attitudes in the left groups towards women and LGBT+ people, and called for solidarity with the women's and gay liberation movements. Newton criticised homophobia and sexism in revolutionary movements, commenting that "homosexuals… might be the most oppressed people in… society", and called on the left to desist using homophobic language: "We should be careful about using those terms that might turn our friends off. The terms 'f****t' and 'punk' should be deleted from our vocabulary, and especially we should not attach names normally designed for homosexuals to men who are enemies of the people, such as [president Richard] Nixon or [attorney general John] Mitchell. Homosexuals are not enemies of the people." The letter stated that as a basic principle, "a person should have the freedom to use his body in whatever way he wants", and went on to say that: "there is nothing to say that a homosexual cannot also be a revolutionary... Quite the contrary, maybe a homosexual could be the most revolutionary." Newton argued that all radical events should include "full participation of the gay liberation movement and the women's liberation movement". The move came a year after the Stonewall rebellion, and the subsequent foundation of the Gay Liberation Front, which supported the Black liberation movement, and militantly raised issues such as homophobia within radical organisations. I think basically even if a trans woman is really, Really wrong about a sensitive topic, the most she deserves is a block on social media, and not like. A whole hate campaign seeking to wipe her off the face of the internet and possibly the earth. Is what I think.

seeking to socially isolate society's most vulnerable type of person for having a poorly formed opinion probably definitely creates an environment which fosters the formation of better opinions im sure. Im sure it also makes people who have actually been hurt by any real materially harmful behavior feel safe about speaking up bc they know that the focus will be on solutions and not become the catalyst for a hate campaign that expands to even the most tangetally related parties. Certainly this must be the case.

sorry for having to do this again. But me and @a-sentient-cup are still in a very precarious situation legally.

We are currently appealing the decision about our family union. With the documentation we have, we, to my knowledge legally have the right to live in denmark together. However I do not trust the state to uphold the actual laws set by the UN.

Because of this, we are in dire need of funds. Both for the likely upcoming legal battle for us to have a life together. But also for the deposit needed for the unification to begin with.

So we have remade our fundraiser due to it only getting one donation for half a year.

Currently we have about a third of the 10000 usd we need, we've gotten this far mostly due to donations from you all so far
