Hello everyone,
After doing research on the Web, I concluded that the differences are: the expression "bring people close" means to "make these people aware of events in each other's lives, involved and also supportive of each other", whereas "bring people together" means to "cause them to meet for the first time or simply meet physically". My question: Am I correct in my conclusions about the difference in the examples I made below?
a. Those problems didn't separate us; they brought us closer, much closer than we were. My wife and I love each other and now we're a very happy couple.
b. They were brought together by fate. He lived in England. She lived in the USA. And they met at a party in Canada. 'What a coincidence!'
c. A friend of mine brought us together when he invited she and I to the same party.
