Revival

Can't say I was looking forward to this. No, not at all.
But I do believe the time has come to revive footballfav and I'm asking for your help.
By now, everyone should be already aware of the present situation in Italy, but since Filipo Raciti's death earlier this year sporadic violence has continued in recent months despite the security crackdown prompted by February's incident and the recent events have only proven this is not going to go away.

Now is the time for us to decide what we are to do. We need fresh ideas on how to express our concern for the violence destroying our beautiful game, and letting them know this is not on. It is time for us to act as best we can. We are only as capable as we believe, and there is power in unity.

Right now, what we are asking for are ideas and actions we can take to further our campaign against violence in football. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

We can try or we can do nothing at all; the choice is yours.

Italy cabinet approves tough anti-hooligan plan

ROME (Reuters) - Italy's cabinet on Wednesday brushed aside resistance by football clubs to approve a tough set of measures to tackle hooliganism at football stadiums.

Under the measures, which follow the death of a policeman during rioting at a match last week, stadiums which are not in line with security regulations will remain closed to fans.

Other measures include a ban on the block sale of tickets to away fans, a beefing-up of stadium bans for those involved in violence at grounds, including under 18s, and a ban on financial or working relationships between clubs and fan associations.

"In the decree (...) it is explicitly said that matches in stadiums which are not in line with regulations will be played behind closed doors," deputy Interior Minister Marco Minniti told a news conference after the cabinet meeting.

"It is clear that we have here very serious measures, I would say without precedents. Maybe this was the only possible answer to such a tragic event," he said.  Full Article

Welcome

This community was started when a group of lj football fans were sitting around extremely discontent with the going ons of the Italian Football Incident. We felt the need to be heard, to express our opinions and feelings, to stand up united against hooliganism, violence and all that is turning our beautiful game ugly. In joining this community you are taking part in a vision where one day football will be as it is meant to, simply beautiful.

We dedicate this community to Filippo Raciti and his family, and all the other victims of football violence in the past. Caught up in something that was never meant to happen, never should happen and is inexcusable. That was not a part of football. Those hooligans should not call themselves fans. Rest in peace ♥

One day soon we hope to begin a website with a forum, where true football fans like yourselves may post messages and photos of peace. Bare with us for now.

Your help and support is appreciated. Remember, we must all stand together as true fans, to save the beautiful game. It is in unity and numbers that we have a voice.

Please feel free to post your opinions or messages of peace, or any other ideas, stories or insight you have. Graphic posts especially relevant to spreading the football love and peace are also very welcome.

Peace ♥
