OMGFESTYAY!

Well, the fest has been an unqualified success, I'd say. We have 29 stories and 7 pieces of artwork, and a few people still outstanding. I've been reading stories and looking at artwork whenever I can, and I have to say that I am absolutely thrilled at the quality of the works produced! And OMG I have SO MUCH MORE TO READ YAYAY!!

I have to link to my wonderful gift -- A Season for Closure by ladychi. Being assigned to write for the mod must've been a little imposing, but Chi put together a fantastic story -- Harry is a trainee auror and Ginny is finishing up at Hogwarts when he is called out on a mission with great personal significance. Curl up with your laptop and a glass of wine, read this fic and tell her how great it is! *loves*

So anyway, if you're done reading MY fic, and finished with ladychi's fantastic gift, check out the masterlist for more, and don't forget to tell the artists and authors how great they are -- I know they'd love to hear it. :D

Assignments are out!

I just sent out 48 email assignments for the Changing Seasons exchange. If you signed up, you should have one in your inbox. :D

Any questions, problems, or complaints -- send me an email or let me know. And yes, I sent one to myself. I like to have it for reference. :D

<3.

Home. Tired. Ready to spend the weekend inside and warm, possibly with cocoa.

Also, OMG. By my rough count, 44 people have signed up for the Changing Seasons exchange. And 43 of those people are someone other than me! This is approximately 40 more people than I worried would sign up. Many of them are not on my flist, and some of them are people I've never even met! Yay for new people! :D :D And thanks to everyone who pimped this out on their journals and encouraged their friends to join in. *loves*

Today is the last day to sign up for the exchange, so if you've been debating, or if you have someone you're still trying to convince, now is the time. I'll probably work on the assignments tomorrow, so in reality everything will have to be in before sometime Saturday morning.

I thought I had something else to say, but now I can't remember it. Huh.

(no subject)

Have finished my work project although not my trip. Am in hotel, after lovely celebratory dinner with very strong margarita. mmmm, margarita. Returning home tomorrow.

So what did I do when back in my hotel room with internet access and under the influence of said margarita? Oh yes, I emailed fanartists and shamelessly drooled all over them invited them to participate in my H/G exchange. Yes, that's right. Other people call members of the opposite sex when drunk, I email fanartists.

OMG I HOPE IT WORKS!! :D

Supernatural on DVR at home. Spoil me and DIE. This means you, LV.

Work trips, exchange pimpage, TV

Just found out I am being sent halfway across the country for work... Leaving tomorrow, back on Friday. I'll bring my laptop but I don't know if I'll have much time for internet access. Honestly, I'm mostly bringing it so I can watch DL-ed eps of Stargate SG-1 on the plane. :P

But, I was hoping to do some shameless pimping of the Changing Seasons exchange, and now I don't know if I'll be able to. Hopefully y'all can help me out with pimpage. :) We've had some awesome writers and artists sign up already -- if you've ever thought about writing Harry/Ginny but didn't know where to start, this is the time!

See? Pimp it like that. :D

I'm watching episode 2.2 of Jericho right now. Still love the show, le Ulrich still dreamy. Collapse )

And... IDOL! Tonight was the top 12 guys. Collapse )

Changing Seasons - a Harry/Ginny exchange

The war is over, Voldemort is defeated, and school is done. Harry and Ginny are finally free to begin a new season of their lives, individually and together. It's a time of new beginnings, of growth and change for Harry and Ginny.

In celebration, please join us for an exchange of Harry/Ginny art and fic! Everyone is welcome, from longtime shippers to dabblers in the pairing. The fest will include all ratings and all genres, from romance to drama, mystery or darkfic -- as long as it's Harry/Ginny, we'd love to have it!

The way it works is simple -- you make a request, I'll send you an assignment, and then you write or draw for someone else. At the end, there'll be lots of Harry/Ginny for everyone to enjoy! Signups will be open February 19-22, and assignments will go out by February 29. You'll have a full month to write and draw, then post your work on your own journal on April 3.

Rules/Guidelines:
1. Fic and art should incorporate the theme of changing seasons, and focus on Harry and Ginny and their romantic relationship. Of course, other characters and concepts can be used, too. Please no character- or ship-bashing.

2. This is an exchange fest -- for the fest to work, it has to be a two-way street: you request AND you contribute a gift for another person. Please don't sign up unless you know you can fulfill an assignment. Names of dropouts will be public at the conclusion of the fest.

3. Anyone of any age can sign up. LJ accounts are not required, but you need to have some way to post your story/artwork. Feel free to post to other journaling sites, DeviantArt, or archives as an alternative to lj, but please remember to link back to the masterlist in your post.

4. Works of any rating are welcome! If you or your recipient are under 18, please stick to ratings suitable for teens.

5. Stories should be at least 1,000 words long. Artwork should be a filled-out sketch or finished product -- please no "drawbles." All participants are encouraged to use a beta, in order to make their work the best possible.

6. Please remember to post your work publicly so everyone can enjoy it! If you have a friends-only journal, make use of public communities like harry_and_ginny and graphicinlove.

7. Post your story/artwork in your own journal on April 3. I will post the masterlist here on that day. Comment on that post with a link to your work, and it will be edited in. Please include a link to the masterlist in your own gift post.

Signup Form:
Comment here to sign up! Just fill out this form and paste into a comment.

Try to give your writer/artist enough suggestions to work with, but not to overwhelm. If there are things you don't want to write or draw (for example, no fluff, nothing too sexy, etc.), just let us know in the signup and we can accommodate you.

Art requests are dependent on the number of artists who sign up (of course!). If requesting art, please remember to make art-friendly requests.

Any questions? Ask away!

Sorry, signups are now closed.

Harry/Ginny idea

I've mentioned this to a few people... I have an idea, and I wanted to see if any of y'all would be interested.

My idea is to hold a Harry/Ginny exchange. People would make requests, assignments would be sent out, fic and art would be produced.

I wouldn't want to do the whole anonymous-posting, send-in-your-stuff and have-the-mod-post-it thing, because that's just too much work. But I think this could be a really fun event that could inspire some great fanart and fic. I'm thinking of a finish line in early April.

I'd love to have a bunch of people, with lots of artists and people who've never written/drawn H/G before... but a little exchange with a few friends would be unconditionally GREAT too.

...so what do you think? Would you be interested in signing up for an exchange if I organized it?
