Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1-mediated expression of vitoGD10890 results in reduced larval salivary gland growth. The nucleoli show a dramatic reorganization into two distinct regions: a peripheral and highly compact region with very smooth borders that surround internal vacuole-like structures. Salivary gland cells are significantly smaller than controls owing to a reduction in cytoplasmic volume and decrease in nuclear size.
Co-expression of vitoScer\UAS.cMa in the vitoGD10890, Scer\GAL4ey.PU background significantly rescues eye disc size, adult eye size and morphology, and several other cellular parameters.
