The expression of rlGD4697 for 3 days during larval development under the combined control of Scer\GAL4hh.PU and Gal80[ts] leads to third instar larval wing discs showing an increase in apoptosis (Dcp1 immunostaining), particularly upon irradiation.

Expression of rlGD4697 in the posterior wing compartment, under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E, generates a wing vein differentiation phenotype.

Depending on the insertion line used, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR can result in viable flies or late pupal lethality.

Expression of rlGD4697 under the control of Scer\GAL4repo results in lack of glial differentiation in the eye disc, but only mildly affects glial division or migration.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 10-20% or 40-50% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 20-30% or 90-100% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum, depending on the insertion line used.

Scer\GAL4phm.PO-driven overexpression of rlGD4697 delays pupariation by 6.1 days. The developmental delay, as well as the size increase caused by Scer\GAL4phm.PO-driven overexpression of Ras85DGD12553 is negated by 20-hydroxyecdysone feeding

Co-expression of rlGD4697 reduces hemocyte proliferation induced by expression of Ras85DV12.Scer\UAS via Scer\GAL4Hml.PG.

Knockdown of rl in a stepdsRNA.Scer\UAS background, through expression of rlGD4697 in the posterior wing compartment (both transgenes under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E) generates a more severe rl phenotype than in a wild-type background. The lateral vein L4 is entirely lost, both cross veins are not differentiated and the distal end of the lateral vein L5 is missing.

Expression of stepScer\UAS.FL has no effect on the wing vein defects caused by expression of rlGD4697 in the posterior compartment of the wing, under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E.
