glial cell & eye disc | somatic clone, with Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP
Dorsal tracheal branches in ciZn:C.Scer\UAS; Scer\GAL4btl.PS embryos migrate aberrantly. The terminal cells of these branches produce multiple cytoplasmic extensions per cell instead of the single extensions seen in wild-type and, also unlike wild-type, these extensions are not confined to the posterior compartment.
When clones of ciZn:C.Scer\UAS are made in the developing eye (under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP) glial cells are seen to overshoot anteriorly in the eye disc, past the axonal boundary.
When driven by Scer\GAL4c591 ocelli size is increased. This phenotype is stronger than that seen when ciScer\UAS.cHb is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4c591.
When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4en-e16E, cuticles of embryos are relatively normal, though the denticles appear to have fewer denticles. When expression is driven by Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1, cuticles of embryos are near normal.
Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP, ciZn:C.UAS, eyaunspecified has glial cell & eye phenotype
When clones of ciZn:C.Scer\UAS (under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP) are made in the developing eye in a eyaunspecified background, glial cells never enter the eye disc.
