MOD POST

Goodluck to everyone in this upcoming season!
Well, with an extra boost to Vero ♥.

I won't be able to play again this year - they told me that I'll more than likely be able to play in a year, but since I'm '06, that does me no good. But, I'll still be attending practically every game, so "the Beast" spirit is still there!

If anyone wants to do some kind of a car pool for Indian-River games or whatever, you know how to contact me.

Drills for the injured

I'm thowing this out hoping a veteran player or coach will respond.

Basically, I'm a lacrosse rookie. I started playing in Seattle over the summer and fell in love with the sport. Unfortunately, in expressing my love for the sport, I took a cut at too high of a speed and tore completely through my ACL. This wasn't a minor tear...I tore through it. In late October, I had surgery to graft part of my hamstring tendon into my knee to replace my ACL.

The hard part, though, is not being able to be out, be active, and get back to developing my skills. My doctor has forbidden me to so much as go jogging until January, and I can't get in a pool and practice my other sport, underwater hockey, until the end of December. I will not be given a bill of health letting me on the practice field until sometime in late April.

At the age of 26, time is starting to be against me. I want to have at least a year or two of casual lacrosse play before I start "getting too old for this", but I lost my entire summer of training and will now lose the fall and spring. I'm champing at the bit here.

So, do any of you have advice for something I can be doing while I'm restricted to mere standing and walking? I'm sure this comes up a lot in lacrosse, but since I have no local community of players to help me keep sharp during this time, I don't know what I should be doing.

Thanks.

South Florida Fall Ball

My coaches(from SRHS) are planning a fall ball lacrosse league. It will be on Sunday afternoons (possibly early evening) and will begin in October. The games will be 7 versus 7. Players from all over are welcome. Current plans call for players to be matched up with players from other schools. In essence, all the team will be mixed with players from all over.

None of it is in concrete yet. But if you would like more info just comment or whatnot.
