Updated with Part 5b: Bridget, a young Muggle, lost her best friend to a Death Eater attack that was originally intended for her. Now she’s thrown headfirst into the wizarding world, having to deal with strange witches waving wands about, Nightmares (literal ones), more Death Eaters attacking her and a boyfriend who isn’t who he pretends to be. For those interested, I'm going to be picking up a Marcus Flint claim for the slash_100 project. There isn't one set pairing, so no matter what your slash OTP might be I'll probably cover it at some point (I'm also more than willing to take suggestions) and I'll be writing some fics just focusing on Marcus. There is adult material included, so count yourself warned, but I know that some fans would see that as only more of an incentive.

My apologies to het fans, though I certainly support many of those pairings for Marcus (especially Angelina or Millicent) but I'm afraid they'll only be mentioned in passing in any of the fics.

It's 1997, and fear is once again at the front of everyone's minds. A new horror was not brought in by Voldemort, but by the very creatures he wishes to control. As the magical population slowly dies off, the dementor population is rising. Thus begins The Dementor's Plauge. They are growing at a rapid pace, and they are also gaining strength With the magical world stricken into panic, safe houses were needed in the country. Hogwarts was quickly declared one, and stands as the only one in the UK. Students, staff, the Order, and Hogwarts Alumni all reside in the castle. Harry has returned, and has continued only to search for the Horcrux. Quidditch has been cancelled, and there is little to do. Food runs are dangerous, and anything could be contaminated. There is a cure, although it is very difficult to create, and there are very small quantities of it. Evil has returned, and is slowly taking over.

Voldemort is dead. Harry Potter has disappeared to America. Five years later, the wizarding world thinks all is safe...

In the spring of what would have been Harry Potter's seventh year at Hogwarts, he finally defeated the Dark Lord. No one knows exactly what happened during their final confrontation, and there have been whispered suspicions in the wizarding world that the whole story of Voldemort's defeat hasn't been told. Harry Potter disappeared to America shortly after Voldemort's fall, fueling speculation that something sinister happened during the final battle, which nearly destroyed Hogwarts.

Now, five years after the end of the war, Hogwarts is almost ready to be reopened. In anticipation of this event, Minerva McGonagall, Headmistress of the school, has sent out invitations to a reunion for all Hogwarts students, a three-day event to be held in Hogsmeade. However, many known followers of the Dark Lord remain at large, and though the wizarding world has been lulled into a sense of security, much is still uncertain. Rumours of Death Eater activity begin to stir as suspicious occurrences are reported with an alarming frequency.

The reunion is just the beginning...
